Im not much of a supporter anymore, the whole organization needs to clean house. starting with the ownership, GM, everyone needs to get the hell out of Toronto. and the team needs to undergo a overhaul as well, I dont care if they dont make the playoffs for another 5-6 years personally because there is no future championship for this team unless they clean up their act.
Fans should stop going to the ACC for once, go there blow 300 bucks on tickets and overpriced drinks and food. might as well blow it at the strip joint ud get more entertainment.

Please try going to Madison Square Garden..I'm trying to buy tickets for a Ranger game and the only way I kind buy tickets are through stubhub or MSG ticketExchange .

The San Jose Sharks rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period for their seventh win in eight games, 3-2 over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
It's time for a major shuffle, get rid of peddie as the president and fire JFJ, he's been crap all season long. I would like to see neil smith take over. Even bowman said in a interview that he considered the position but richard peddie was too stubborn to take a chance. Leafs fans deserved better, you need the original six teams to thrive in order for a competitive market.... Blackhawks, Rangers, etc.
Play Justin Pogge.... he's your only hope for the future!

My oh my, Fletchy did it, again!
He managed to get rid of three crappy players for draft picks. Leafs are guaranteed to get a top 5 pick in the '08 draft, 2nd RD, 3rd RD and a 5th rD which this year according to scouts, is a deep draft.
Sign some key free agents, make some plausible trades and eradicating $3mill worth of cap space.

I swear, John ferguson is a douche bag! he was trying to defend himself like he wasn't at fault giving those player no-trade clauses, which he did. We all know that only happens when you believe a player is established and going to help your team in the long run. I love how fletchy criticized his position, and he had no choice but to make those deals when you factor in the clauses.
You got, Bryan mccabe, Darcy tucker, Pavel kubina & Mats sundin -- if mats waived his no-trade then we would've got a damn, good deal. Mccabe, being the baby that he is, said 'No' and pavel changed his mind in the last second.

the only player who merited one of those was mats.

They should tank the season. They are going no where fast, and making the playoffs is a longshot at best. Good article on CBC.ca - Canadian News Sports Entertainment Kids Docs Radio TV about the Leafs and always just making "it" in or not, and how that is not making the team any better.
The club has to go into the toilet for three seasons or more, and then they can rebuild. Unlike Montreal, when Bob took over, the leafs have virtually no tradeable assets, and the ones they have, can't be traded.
So to rebuild, you need youth players. Either by trading for young prospects by trading away good players now, or trading away for draft picks.
If you don't have "high" picks, you need MORE picks. Bob Gainey and Montreal rule prior to 95, stockpile draft picks. The more picks, the mor chances to get good players. The Leafs can't do either of these. They refuse to capitulate, and they can't deal, as they have no assets to unload. And they can't sign any FA, because they have no cap room.
All I have to say again, this mess will take more than five years to sort out at this rate. If I was a Leaf fan, I would be not hoping for anything beyond that...but I'm glad I'm not one.

We will not TANK the season -- I don't believe in tanking, it's such a myth.
I believe in fletcher given the circumstances. We need to hire a brian burke or ken holland in order to move forward. I think the key is removing peddie from office and giving these guys their freedom to run the team.

How can you say that?
Colorado, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, New Jersey and the king of them all..Pittsburgh have built very good teams by "tanking".
Honestly Jec, there is no other way, and as much as I like Brian Burke, this rebuild job is too much for him. Actually I think he'll tank the team. Play the young players, and lose with the young players.

Toronto sitting in 12th spot with 80pts, 4pts behind the bruins for 8th.
Buffalo, Florida, Washington all vying for that playoff entry.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment president Richard Peddie has rubbished reports that he is set to make a bid to take control of Tottenham. Peddie watched Spurs play Bolton at the weekend but denied that he had a meeting with club chairman Daniel Levy.
Quote:
"I have never met the individual, never contemplated an offer," Peddie said. "[It is] Complete fiction."
Speaking to Canadian newspaper, National Post, Peddie added: "I attended a game at White Hart Lane. I took the train, went to a game, watched Tottenham tie and had lunch there. That was the full extent."
|
Perhaps the Spurs'?
