Like you said Z187 there is a Raptors/Blue Jays why not a Maple Leafs.Well I got to say.If the Blue Jays/Raptors are up at the top then the Leafs should be as well.

Fab you are from United States?
while in truth, the Maple Leafs are the most popular Sports team in Toronto.
Im telling you, the next time they win the Stanley cup (which looks like it will never happen) it will be one of the craziest celebrations in north american sports history I could picture riots downtown thats how bad it gets. when they win one playoff game, where I live you cant sleep all you hear is car horns and drunken ppl. I dont even live downtown, I live in the uptown area of Toronto.
howeevr the team is basically just a corporate cash cow and they are never true contenders for the stanley cup since their last win in 1967. The only year they looked like taking the cup was in 1993 which ended up in bitter disapointment in the semi finals, which I was six years old and remember like it was yesterday.
they have alot of history and hockey is the primary sport in Canada.
but Blue Jays and Raptors, and now Toronto FC have good followings as well.

Z- man, there is an influx of college students leacing canada to come to the west coast in cali and florida -- My cousin is now living there. You'd be surprise how many torontians there are.
As for the leafs, I'm still not convinced they will make the playoffs. The team needs a major revamping and that includes firing fergie.

hmm maybe I should think about going to school down there lol I love the warm weather and the girlados down there must be nice hahaha.
Leafs will make the playoffs this year, this year we lost by 1 point, year before almost the same story two sesons in a row 9th place.
the team got a little stronger for this season, I expect us to make the playoffs but it wont be easy and in the playoffs I doubt we will make any impact.

thats good, let Toronto Maple Leafs be your club for the Eastern Conference.
Toskala should fit the bill, Raycroft was not up to par.
Leafs fans have high standards when it comes to goaltending - I remember Felix Potvin, Cujo, and Ed Belfour enjoying good stints with us.
In 2005 and 2006 the Alberta rivals Calgary and Edmonton made the finals (and lossed).
than in 2007 Ottawa made the finals, maybe 2008 means the other Ontario club TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS finally get their turn I doubt it though, just wishful thinking but lets hope for a good season and playoff hockey.
Just dont cheer for those damn habs, even though they have the most stanley cups their fans have a severe mental problem all their fans do (that I know of) is talk Sh*t about the Maple Leafs and boo American national anthem.
