Portuguese Baseball/Academica wins Iberica cup/Tigres Loule national champions
REMEMBER WE WON THE IBERIC CUP BY BEATING THE SPANISH CHAMPIONS
SilvioSilva plays for Academica and he wrote the following
unfortunatly we lost the championship on the last game of the champioship series... besides that, we won every other trophy this year.
But he main victory was the Iberian league! That was the one we really wanted more than any other... I honestly dont believe any portuguese team (including us) will be able to win the Iberian League in the near future.
From what i've heard, with the new field being finished and ready for the next season, and all the good publicity generated from the level and organization of the competition, some major spanish teams are interested in participating next year (teams with Pro, or Semi-pro rosters. This year was a all amateur tournment). Baseball in Portugall is still an Amateur Sport, we wont be able to beat those teams, but if they keep coming to this competition this will help portuguese baseball to develop a lot faster. On a more selfish note, I'm thriled on the possibility of facing those teams!! I cant wait to see some 90 Mph pitches and some 400ft homers live in portuguese ground

2004 champions was Academica
Last year Champion was Academica de Coimbra
Tigres of Loule vs Villas Vikings [Vila do Conde]
PAZ Basebol Club[Oliveira de Azemeis] vs Academica de Aveiro
SÉRIE A ARRANCA JÁ AMANHÃ
Basebol: Um novo Nacional com duas divisões Paulo Henriques
Ac. Coimbra fica de folga na primeira ronda
Serie B

This is quite a shock. S. Africa and thew Netherlands are probably teams that no one expected a win from. Actually people believed these temas could not even compete. Could this be the biggest surprise of the tourney?
