Thumbs up I thought this qoute would do Portugal well....

It is from a very recent Marcello Lippi interview, on how he wants the Azzurri to play, and I think it would do well for Portugal also.

Quote:
“It doesn't matter so much whether they are centre-forwards, wingers or support strikers, the real question is the overall mentality of a team that tries to pressure its opponents and also knows when to defend.

“It would be lovely to dominate a game for 90 minutes, but that means you are facing a really poor opponent. A great team must know how to attack, maintain and defend.”

Jager, I read what Marcello Lippi said and he said he wants the azzurri to play more like manchester united which is probably what the quote suggesting about the front line of center forward/support striker/ wingers and the team mentality of defense/attack.

Portugal will likely get Carlos Queiroz to manage the team , he is the current manchester united assistant coach so if he comes to coach Portugal some of those ideas probably have a fair chance of being implemented.

He did say this, however some of this is Lippi's own style. But you are correct, he did mention United.

well Lippi is a master coach, either way there is no doubt Italy's national team is in good hands again.

No. We need a more defenisve minded team.... our assets are our wingers but the MF is the strong hold. Simply put Pele/Manelele in the middle, you'll see a big difference, they are tough as nails! We need a change in formation and if it is our mental aspect then someone like Manuel Jose would put these kids into shape.

And for the last time, I don't see queiroz as the coach....
