Brasil vs Portugal-Nov 11
Brazil And Portugal Announce Friendly Meeting
Brazil and Portugal have arranged a friendly match to take place this November in the Distrito Federal, Brazil...
Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom The two main Lusophone countries will meet at the Bezarrão stadium on November 11th.
This is a rare chance for the Verdes Amarelos to host a European side on their own soil, with matches between such countries usually taking place on the 'Old Continent'.
Should Dunga still be in charge of Brazil by the time the sides meet, Portugal's new manager - whomever that may be - will have his work cut out against the team ranked second in the world at present.
The two sides last met in London early last year, with Portugal running out 2-0 winners. Indeed, Brazil haven't beaten the Seleção das Quinas at all this century, with Portugal winning another and drawing a third game.
Prior to 2000 the two teams faced off last in Rio de Janeiro in 1989, with Brazil running out 4-0 victors in a friendly encounter.
The teams have not met competitively since the 1966 World Cup, during which Portugal won 3-1 in Liverpool against Brazil.

When you watch that video you can see the difference in the two players, Quaresma is silky smooth all the tricks look natural and easy. Ronaldo can do all the same tricks but they look robotic, and practiced. At least thats the way I see it, it may have to do with Ronaldo being taller and normally the longer the legs the more awkward players look but I dunno, I still think Quaresma has more RAW talent then Ronaldo, Ronaldo has had to really work hard at it to get where he is.

I believe 16 nations participate in the tournament
Portugal with huge wins over top south american countries including argentina, Eusebio had a great tournament
Portugal lost in the final to Brasil 0-1

Frank the game means nothing it is good to give the kids a run about especially at a big stage like that, because it won't FEEL meaningless you know what I mean.

I understand that, but all in all it's meaningless, which is why its a good stage for the kids because its an "important" meaningless game. They will play hard because its a big stage and they want to prove their worth, and we can give them the opportunity to do so because it doesn't matter if we win or lose.
Don't think that many of the european based Brasilians will be cleared for this friendly, not that they won't field a strong team anyway, but I will be very surprised to see Kaka there.
