It seems Ronaldo came out of nowhere and nobody expected him to be this good of a player. Considering Quaresma was touted as the next big thing, CR became a player in his own right, more composed, more determined to suceed.

I'm asking you this because I don't think people realize he has this much potential coming from the academy. Even Rui might agree, An Unknown gem, I suppose.

What do you think?

After Euro 2004, I knew Cristiano Ronaldo would become the best Portuguese player of this generation.

but before that, Quaresma was seen as more star material then Ronaldo. but after euro 2004 I became convinced C ronaldo is gonna rise to the top.

I knew it, he basically carry the whole portuguese team on his back on the qualify for the world cup in Germany

to be honest i thought a season or two ago he wasnt progressing in the manner expected too many tricks and no end result,and i dont honestly think anybody could have said they expected him to have the season hes having at present so for me he has progressed faster than anticipated and i would be pretty pissed if he left this summer.

I don't care much about what he did for MU, but C Ronaldo score 9 goals in qualify towards World Cup in Germany
and nobody can take there away
MU was not aware what we already knew, the he was a good scorer

He showed signs vary early of having what it takes to become s superstar. Now having said that, I did expect it to take a little longer than this. His confidance is through the rooof. If he does not have any major injuries, I really have no idea of just how good he will. That is the scary part.

United were vary clever indeed in signing him as early as they did. Good forsight on there part. Coach is a vary good jugdge of young talent.

Simao can also score, Figo did, and Quaresma can easily score 15 goals on any team in the EPL

I remember I was watching the 2003 Toulon tournament because I wanted to see Quaresma shine but Ronaldo out of no where was beating players left and right. From this moment I thought he was going to be something special. How I wish I had taped the Portugal games in that tournament.

what about in the Euro qualify when we went to France and won 2-1, he put a show, players like Bonsingwa, Meireles, Ze Castro, were on that team
Cisse got suspended, today's french national team coach, complain we were a bunch of animals when some the guys in the celebration knock the 5.5 ceiling

when most of the portuguese players boycott the Olympics C Ronaldo and Meira said yes, I still remember the stupid Postiga excuse

I remember that also..i listened to that game on internet radio...what an intense game that was...The french were so bitter they had to blow the whole ceiling story out of proportion....but the toulon tournament ronaldo shined in was before this.

That's what I was expecting. Ronaldo was a nobody til people got his attention. He is one of those players that developed so quickey.

Who knows, maybe the Fifa u20 WC will showcase a new talent.

The two best players in the world in the coming years

will be Cristiano Ronaldo from europe

and Messi from south america

thats what I think, but I think Ronaldo can be the best in the world and lead Portugal to legendary status.
