It's Foolad I think, and I think Kaebi (the RB that kicked Figo in the face in the WC) plays for them as well.

Like I said I don't really keep in touch with the Iranian league, the biggest teams I think are Persepolis, Esteghlal & Paas, but most good Iranians go to the rich Arabic countries and the best come to Europe.

He is absolutely right. The marketability of CR is incredible. I'm sure he will break into the states like becks but for the right reason. He is a talented kid and a sure promoter of the game.

If Fifa was smart they would use there star players to branch out for more fans in North America. Look at Jordan, he is known all over the world, still makes Billions off his shoe deals and his name.

Ronaldo is comparable to Jordan. Something that becks lacks was talent in skill and I see an influx of kids wanting to know who Ronaldo is.

My town doesn't know who he is. I always wear my Portugal Jersey and they say Ronaldo who?

Finally teams know how to Guard him -- Tripleteam. I can see how he has trouble creating when they Give him a alittle amount of space.

I would love to see Kaka & Ronaldo together. Like Batman & Robin, Quaresma would be Jealous.

Hey Guys

I am sorry to say this but it is becoming a trend, and before i say this i want him to do as well as he can. But our golden boy tends to Shit his pants in the big games.

Euro 2004 lost to Greece

World Cup semi lost to France

3rd place World Cup lost to Germany

2007 Champions league to A.C. Milan got schooled by Kaka

2007 F.A Cup final lost to Chelsea.

In all of these games when the big time players do big time things. CR7 Tends to shit himself. So unitil he steps it up, He can not be considred the best player in the world. . Hey guys I call it like i see it

Ur right, but he doesn't brick it in all the big games, don't forget the 2nd leg v Roma, or the first leg v Milan, they were massive games as well. and don't forget in the World Cup v England, the amount of pressure on him there wasn't exactly small....

In most of the games u've listed he's been double-teamed out of a game, he IS good enough to get himself out of it, he just needs practice and tactical help from SAF to give him support or make it harder for the opposition to double-team him.

He is still young though and learning. The euro 2004 was an exception, I don't think any young kid can perform like a superstar when there is alot of pressure.

It happens in every sport. I agree that Ronaldo does show up but I think you Gotta Give credit to the opponents for specifically targetting him and it frustrates him.

He needs to learn to adapt but it will be tough. Still, We always have Quaresma to carry us.

It's also a mental Game as well, rui. Alot of times, you have players that succumb to the pressure and sometimes it's the emotion aspect.

I don't think it's much to do with his mentality.

In the build-up to the game on Saturday the BBC had a 10mins piece on Ronaldo with interviews from his mum, sister, former coaches, dad's friends.... and they all said Ronaldo has an amazing attitude, and u can see that when he plays. He hates losing, he was probably closest to tears out of all the United players when we lost, and whenever he gets kicked he gets up and keeps running and never gives up.

His attitude is definitely NOT the problem. And nor should he be labelled a choker, how could u guys forget that Ronaldo was so hugely important in actually getting Portugal to the final in Euro 2004, or in getting u to the Semis in the World Cup!? Look at what he's had to handle since he came back to England, incessant booing, people threatening him and his family.... and yet he's playing better than he ever has.

The problem is not his attitude, or his lack of ability, or his fear of big games, it's that he's not getting enough tactical support from his manager or team-mates. He was being double-teamed, and Heinze was never anywhere to be seen and when Heinze was forward, he'd just lose the ball. Our CMs lay deep and weren't often an option. While we only had Rooney (who has only ever scored 1 goal with his head in his proffessional career) up front, so Rooney was the only player ever in the box. So tell me what Ronaldo could do the few times he actually had the ball, he had to hold up the ball, against a minimum of 2 players at all times, waiting for players to get forward while having very few options behind him.

Don't turn against him now, just look at the year he's had and look how many goals and assists he has for both Man Utd and Portugal ffs!

I'm not, Rui isn't either. It's just a matter of stepping up and prove you can be a leader. Ronaldo still bothers me when he dives, he can be so much more, I still think he will break records in the future.

Also, CR is a smart kid. He knows he is a role model and he is doing all he can to subject himself to negative press in Britain.

you are bring too harsh on ronaldo. your forgetting many other big games in his career when he did step up and make the difference...

2003 FA cup final vs millwall he scored 2 goals
2004 Euro semi final scored opener vs Netherlands
Uefa champions league this year big performance vs benfica, crucial assist vs lille, goal vs milan, great and goals vs roma in quarters
one time I remember him setting up the only goal in a 1-0 win vs chelsea
he score twice vs arsenal once

and in an fa cup final vs Arsenal, he was the best player but they lost on penalties after a 0-0.

Portuguese qualifers i.e. slovakia, belgium, estonia, etc he stepped it up in important situatios

2006 world cup qualifying- look at all the goals he scored, and he was one of our best players and converted the penalty against england to put us through..

Ronaldo is not a choker, he is the LEAST choker out of all Portuguee players... he steps up to take penalties- dont forget Figo chickened out and stopped taking penalties for the NT... after figo missed his PK vs Juventus in the CL semis in 2003 he has been shit at penalties (he used to be very good at em).

lets look at the games you are brining up

euro 2004 fianl vs Greece- Greeks are defending with 11 men whole game, everyone knows they were very lucky to win in Da Luz. Ronaldo did play shit in this game, but he was only 19 years old and without him we wouldnt be in the final.

World cup Semi final vs France....

most people actually say ronaldo was the best player in this match, he dove a few times but he was a threat making good dribbling moves...

Dont forget the best goal scoring opportunity of Portugal in this game... Freekick, Ronaldo shoots, the ball dips like crazy, barthez cant hold it... open header for Figo, figo heads it over the net unfortunately.

3rd place for Germany??? we were already kicked out, sure 3rd place is nice.. but obviously germany is going to want it more they were playing at home- portugal was already content with 4th place. but if you want to be the best, your gonna be in the Final and Ronaldo tried his hardest to get us into the 2006 final and we didnt so w/e maybe next time.

2007 CL final got schooled by KAKA

ffs, Kaka was given lots of space, Man united dont play with DM's like Gattuso who commit themselves to marking Kaka out of the game. Milan did, and Ronaldo did make some good plays particularily in the first game, yes he was overshadowed by Kaka but Milan finished 3rd in their lague and Kaka didnt play in the serie A like Ronaldo played in EPL.

its a tactical battle between 2 teams, Kaka had the advantage ... ronaldo was double teamed and dissapoint bt he still made a couple good shots and scored a goal (albeit a lucky one but they all count).

2007 FA cup loss to chelsea- yes Ronaldo was not up to par and has no excuse.

The bottom line, noone can take away the great season Ronaldo has had this year. Do I think he is the best player in the world? No he is not, and people are overrating him a little bit I feel..

but i na few years I will guarentee all of you Ronaldo will be the best, and IMO if Portugal wins anything in the coming years it will be because of him.

Ronaldo is 22 years old, yes when he is up against the strongest teams he can dissapear at times and needs to work on it, but you are being far too harsh on him.

towards the end of the season- I think fatigue caught up with Ronaldo...

he runs all over the place and it affects him... but when your at his age many players have trouble keeping up their stamina.
