Well its over. We have some really nice upcoming players but we continue to be a nation that does not develope strikers and or is not vary creative creating scoring oportunities for those strikers.
Congradulations to Chile. They IMO were the better (not more tallented though) team last night.

This Portugal team really stinks. they dont know how to play pure and simple.
the way some of those players were playing yesterday, made me think how long have they been playing soccer... because many of them cant even make simple passes to their teammates.
Couceiro sucks... players like Coentrao and Zequina try to play like Crisitano ronaldo or Figo but none of them are anywhere close.
look at Argentina U20 team, that is the proper way to play. they pass the ball around with pace and fluidity, and they dont have any selfish primmadonna's on their team... they all realise the team comes first. and they have extremely talented individuals such as Aguero who scored a wonder goal yesterday.
Argentine football is rising, 2010 wc will be theirs for sure.
Good riddance to this team, I hope the players on this squad arent our future because if they are then we are f*king screwed.

That was the most dispicable thing I have every seen last night! first half was BRUTAL not one shot on net we had no attack what so ever. second half we started putting some pressure but im sorry the red card parts wow that was just disgusting! WTF was zequinha thinking? I don't care how made or upset you are you NEVER and I MEAN NEVER touch or for his matter grab the card out of his hand.. that just made our country look pathetic! made us look like we had no class what so ever. WHY are we always involved in controversy games? First against the netherlands, then with England now this! man we look like cry babies!
ps. I have to admit that grabbing the red card out of the refs hands will be on highlight shows everywhere and I probably will find it funny in the future!

Z-man, Aguero was impressive for the Argies. I reall like midget moralez. I think Argentina, Spain and Chile are the next crop to rise. Mexico has talent but they rely to much on Dosantos.
As for Portugal, Where the fvck was magno fonseca????
The talent level was average. I think they were caught in the own spotlight because commentators expected so much from the boys. I'n not suprised we stunk but attending the first game o the WC, Portugal layed with poise and patience.

I'm not ashamed of our team they must learn how to play against a physical team. We were out muscled on every play and we must learn to play tough and handle the jive the other team hands out.

After watching the video of the two red cards I felt that the Portuguese players where 100% correct in their actions..Watching their best player getting knee to the head while he sat helpless on the field was the last straw...Portuguese federation should be less concern about apologizing for their players action and more concern with protesting to FIFA about the harassament of their players by FIFA Referees...Portugal totally outplayed both Mexico and Gambia , but was killed by two dubious penalty calls...Gambian team really went on town on this Portuguese squad with their wild tackles and aggressive play...At least three Gambian players should have been red carded and Our best player had his ankle broken on another non-call foul...

Your must be joking. You can't predict who will come out on top. I agree Antunes is a horse but there are other players who impressed me.
Not even Pele????
He was really good, rui. You can't put these players down. Some of them make it, Some of them won't. Coentrao needs to learn to kick with his right foot, He is crap when he shoots.
