How could we lose to Gambia????

That was my beef. A team that plays with no effort is a bunch of hyprocrites. Leave the kids out of it rui -- There just kids. This tourney was lackluster and I'll probably skip the other matches.

You might as well give the WC to Spain. That is a team that is well prepared and hungry.

Roy his disappointed like all of us, but it's not the end of the world, some good can come out of this,
I been a big supporter of Couceiro until today, I hate to say it, he just don't have it
what's bad -
coach's like Vitor Oliveira, Cajuda, Joao Alves, coach's the now the game just don't get a chance

It seems that there have been many complaints about Scolari-but he would never have this team go down without a fight.
Couceiro never inspired - bad tactics - bad formations - bad games.

I would've loved to see Zequinha smack the ref cause that would be the only entertaining thing to happen in this match.

Couceiro is an amateur. I'm sorry but now it's all sinking in that our players are taking a step backwards when were so uninspired.

Let's be honest - Fabio Coentrao was nearly stepped on by two Chilean players who went out of their way to walk over him and not around him = any ref at that stage of the game would have pulled out a yellow for those infractions.
The only reason - and I wasn't there to hear it - that Mano would have bitch slapped the Chilean would have been for a racial slur. Why else? And take note of the sign behind the net "Stop Racism" - if this is true that player should be banned from any International event for life - that will put a stop to racism.
I am not seeing the game with red and green and yellow eyes. I'm the same guy who thought Pele deserved an automatic red when he tackled the New Zealander in the first game.
Zequinha deserved the Red, no questions asked.
But the ref lost control of the game 10 minutes into the second half when he wasn't calling the Chileans for leaving their foot behind when he made those calls against the Portuguese in the first half (and they were valid calls).
The selectio of captain makes a difference - and with Gama gone - someone should have stepped up and that would have been our captain. When I played and when I was captain - I had the last word - not my players. I was the only one allowed to talk to the ref. It was either that way or you didn't play.
But it was nice to see the video-clip at the end of the game with the captain talking to the ref - hands behind his back - and civilized.

I agree, but it's sad to see Portuguese soccer drag back too 2000 and 2002 when our players brought shame to our football...The referee had his agenda, but we need to take the higher road and not act in this fashion...

And that is the captain and the coaches responsibility.

When I played - there were two of us that were captains... In one game the other captain threw one of our own players out of the game for a bad tackle - not the ref but our captain - who then got a yellow for unsportsmanlike conduct for yelling at our player. :-(

Any infractinon on one of our players - and I as the captain approached the ref with hands behind my back and asked for his attention - and then explained the facts. After doing that a number of times - they pay attention.

As a coach - if my captain didn't prove himself a leader or motivator - he lost the captaincy. End of discussion.

Federation apologizes for the players behaviour.

That was fast... Must have had it already done - a template for such actions.
Put in Chile - put in Edmonton... :-(
