Italy has more more experienced players, pirlo is great.... untouchable!
I know this might sound silly but if I can trade ronaldo for pirlo, I would.... we have too many creative players and not enough grit.
Who the fuck is our leader?
Maniche, petit don't belong on this team. Deco is overrated, it takes a game against italy for him to finally show up....

i have noticed when Ronaldo is captain he always struggles try to hard, some one else should be the cap and let Ronaldo play his game with out the pressure.

I think your being too hard on Deco. I dont' think he should be on the team because with the other players, he is redundant. What is his role? Only to link up the defenders and CR and company??
Deco is not useless, this just might not be the ideal formation for him as he can't have the ball.
You have too much of a good thing. Now if you have Pele back there, he can nail opposition coming down with his good tackling, but he can contribute offensively with pin point passes up front or even pushing up for the attack.

That's actually a very good point. Though we don't really have a leader, ever since Figo retired, we don't have someone we can rely on the carry the team forward. So who to give the armband ?

TBH, I expected him to be more of a leader for portugal. He has been so inconsistent at times, so frustraing!
Jager, That's his role, to control the midfield, dictate the tempo!
Veloso can play like that as well.

No he cannot.
Veloso is a holding midfield, he is not a playmaker, he is no Pirlo.

Veloso can create good passes, we make him out to be just a DM.... he cna do more.
He holds the ball, but can dictate the tempo, did you see today's sweden game?

No, it seems to me the Portugal game plan is to pass to CR and hope for the best.
Deco is not Pirlo. I see him more of an AM in the center of the pitch. Inter wanted him for this reason, as he would play behind Ibra and company..and the ball moves through him......
I might be seeing something else though..as I don't follow this side closely, but I don't think Deco is useless. He IS not a holding midfielder.
For me a holding midfielder is defensively responsible, can win balls and can make short or long passes. Pirlo plays very deep at times..sometimes starting off attack.

Im not looking for trouble, its an honest question.
He is only 23, and Im sure there are those who have been with the team longer and who have more leadership experience. Carvalho would be a better choice imo.
