I believe in putting your best 11 players on the field. That said, how anyone could even think of keeping Quaresma on the bench and have the likes of Pauletta play 90 minutes is beyond me. I wanted to choke the coach during Euro 2004 when he was keeping Ronaldo who was the most dangerous player, BY FAR, on the bench along with Deco on occasion while that damn Pauletta embarrased himself time and time again. Pauletta was useless, a joke. You have two options : 1) Keep the traditional striker Pauletta in, and watch him trip over his own feet on a regular basis and miss one opportunity after another, or 2) Put your top talent in (Ronaldo and Quaresma) and see them run the other team into the ground.

I too would love to see Ronaldo used as a striker. But Pauleta is your only really good well recognised goalscorer....maybe Nuno Gomes too....the team needs an experienced goalscorer like Pauleta imo.
