France notified Portugal they where going to get test 5 m before the game was over, Portugal waited for 1 hour for the Uefa delegates they were not around.

Portugal was not against the drug test, but they wanted Uefa representatives, in another words din't trust the french.
The national team left the place after they got the ok by the Dept of youth of Sports in Clermont-Ferrand.

Default Portugal demands apology from France

Portugal demands apology from France
First Published: Nov 20, 2003

Portuguese football chiefs demanded an apology from their French counterparts for the "serious allegations" made by Raymond Domenech, the coach of the France Under-21 team in the wake of their European championship clash on Tuesday.

"The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) will request that the French federation obtains a formal apology on the part of their national Under-21 coach," said Angelo Brou, the vice-president of the FPF.

Domenech, whose side lost the play-off match at Clermont Ferrand, had launched a staggering attack on the Portuguese team claiming they had trashed their changing room and that their behaviour was "wild" and "unspeakable" and that the players "were not in their normal state."

He also claimed that syringes were found in the Portuguese dressing room.

However, earlier Thursday, Portuguese team doctor Joao Resende said the one syringe left had been used for an anti-inflammatory.

"I can guarantee it has nothing to do with doping," he added.

The Portuguese squad refused Tuesday to undergo a random doping test ordered by the French sports ministry.

Portugal, led by Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, won the game 2-1 after losing the first leg by the same score to pull level 3-3 on aggregate and then won the penalty shoot-out 4-1.

Brou said that if an apology was not forthcoming, he would make an official complaint to UEFA.

Portugal coach Joao Romao said earlier this week that the damage to the roof of the dressing room was caused mostly by the players throwing him in the air to celebrate their qualification for the finals.

"The next games for Portugal, the party is over"

What Party??!!! Our selecçăo has struggled to overcome mediocre teams such as Greece, Albania, Norway and Kazakhstan!!!!! Lets not forget teh disappointing loss to Spain, and the fact that we beat Kuwait 8-0 means nothing. Thank God we are hosting this tournament otherwise we would never have qualified!!!!!!!

Sack Scolari now before it is too late!!!!!

No, he is doing a great job for us. I think that he has to coah one of the big 3 before he even thinks about moving to international level.

What happen to Humberto Coelho? He did a great job for Portugal in Euro 2000, and then he quit!!!! We played some of the best football during that time.
