in 20 years all of the portuguese will speak english as a second language, for the first time its mandatory in the school systems in the 3rd grade, 8 years old, before was optional when you turn 12.
but its important for the people of Brasil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Timor, Guine Bissau, S Tome e Principe, Goa, etc.

one more favor
please send a email to Conmebol and CAF to includ the portuguese language, this is what I send
thanks again
Your federation is a disgrace, you keep ignoring the portuguese language in the federation site, we already got 16,000 signed a petition, and got Fifa approved to include the portuguese language on there site beginning on december, now we need to get CAF and CONMEBOL to do it, remember you got 5 portuguese speaking nations under your umbrella, Cape Verde, Mozambique, S Tome e Principe, Angola, Guine Bissau
so stop ignoring the portuguese language
this is the email for Conmebol
conmebol@conmebol.com.py
Africa Federation

today's latest report
Football: Portugal say yes to Belfast showpiece
By Jim Gracey
23 October 2005
NORTHERN Ireland's glamour Belfast friendly against Portugal's superstars is definitely ON.
Ronaldo, Deco, Figo and Co will face Lawrie Sanchez's side at Windsor Park on Tuesday, November 15 as part of the IFA's 125th anniversary celebrations.
The confirmation is another coup for IFA supremo Jim Boyce after the match was placed in doubt by a more lucrative rival offer from the Middle East.
Relieved Boyce told Sunday Life last night: "Portugal could have commanded five times the deal they are getting from us by going to the United Arab Emirates. They are coming here thanks to a special relationship we've forged with the Portuguese FA."
But in a clear reference to the National Stadium debate, Maze supporter Boyce warned: "We cannot keep calling in favours like this. We want fans here to see the best but given the possibility of a further cut in the Windsor Park capacity, ticket prices would go through the roof to meet guarantees."

There must be a tougher opponent that Portugal play against other than Northern Ireland.

Portuguese Futebol comes full circle
nice article

Good read comparing Portugal from the 60's to today and how similar the situation is.
Plus a nice mention of Braga at the end.
