Quaresma ? Too bad he did not play from the begining. Simao ? Dude, you the man. Great game
|
I can hear Fans screaming at Scolari trying to put him Quaresma on. I thought he was Quite Impressive. Simao was off the hook, helped the team As was Deco who made some Great passes.
I was disappointed the way we couldn't capatilize on our chances. I know Gomes is not the answer For a vet to miss that chance, That is unacceptable.

Scolari believes the reason Queiros attended yesterday's game is because he wants to be the new NT coach!

Quaresma looked a bit nervous, you can tell he really wanted to show scolari he belongs on the team but he settled down and playd good and was working hard kept making runs and trying to make things happen.
Im sure Quaresma will be called to the next game, unlesss he is injured.

I was hoping that Quaresma would force his way on to the starting 11. He played good but Simao was a force. Now im starting to think we have to have both these guys start, but not so much Nuno Gomes... he missed way too many chances.

Haha, Scolari better watch his back, Queiroz might take his Job.,
This was a Easy win yet Scolari looked nerbous on the bench. I still think he is feeling the pressure when all you Gotta do is put Ronaldo/Quaresma on the Same Field and add a two Strikers on the pitch.
Hate to say it, I think more needs to be done.

Frank you make it out to be like Somewhere in the desert.
Like I said, Until we can beat the Viable opponents then I'll will be happy with the points. Poland was a Good test but we lost, Now Belgium is knocking on our door and it's time to make some Improvements.

Gomes days as a top striker are gone..How could he miss such easy chances and it wasn't a case of having a bad day. He miss a few chances in the Celtic game.

Agree that Quaresma was a little nervous, but his performance today was A class...Scolari scored some points by adding new blood to this lineup. My opinion is that in oerder to win we need to mix some new faces with the old ones.

how would you line up the team than?
IMO the 4-3-3 is Still the best way to go for Portugal
if you played 2 wingers and 2 strikers, Deco would be restricted to mainly defensive responsibilities in the middle of the pitch.

He had to, Costinha, Petit and Nuno Valente have been shit in their recent Portugal games. also on defense, you need the right backups ...Ricardo Costa and Rocha arent the answer (see the results when they played!...)
and we suffered with injuries to andrade and meira we were forced to play with sub par backups when tonel should have been there because he is better than rocha or costa.
Portugal has been doing bad mainly because of injuries to players combined with drop in form of key players of the defensive structure of the team. (i.e. Costinha, Petit, Valente, Rocha, Costa)
Next year Im sure we will win most of our games and climb back to the top of the table.
