Great comparison, except I think Eusebio cried because he carried Portugal on his back, while Ronaldo cried to show his sensitive side for the ladies lol

I think Deco, in particular, is a huge factor in achieving portugal's success in the upcoming WC. Take in mind, he's a little bit youth, and a little bit experience.

Would be great to see what Frank thinks....give a direct comparison of the teams.
Which players in this squad would get into the 66 one?

Good thread by the way.
On form leading up to the World Cup I think the team would have to be this;
Figo Tiago Petit Simao
............Deco
..........Pauleta

I don't understand why it would be...considering the talent you have at youth level I would say in 4 years time you could have a better oppertunity.

..................................Vale
Nelson............Andrade.....Carvalho......Ferrei ra
Quaresma....Fernandes.......Tiago.......Ronaldo

I'm sure other players will develop and you have some fantastic Under 18 players who could be great understudies.

Rui Costa started game one in 2002. The final two games Paulo Bento was prefered as a trinco and Joao Pinto Played attacking mid.
