Here's a First hand Example of Racial Profiling.

My Cousin was arrested a few months back for 'Suspition of Burgarlary'. He is Black. The Police kept him in custardy over night until the actual criminal was caught and arrested. The criminal was white. How do you think that makes us feel?

They arrested my cousin simply because they assumed that a crime of this nature 'must be a black person'. They did not have a description of the criminal but automatically assumed that my cousin was responsible because of his racial profile. The sickening thing was that there was no compensation for their false accusations and not even an apology.

Why is it acceptable to do this? They had NO reason to believe My cousin was involved, and yet this crime occured and they arrest a Black person because of their presumtions. How is this attitude in any way acceptable?

Jager, I know that you agree with Racial Profiling, but wouldn't it offend you if you were stereotyped or victimised because of your ethnicity/race. I presume that you are an Italian so here's an example: (remember, Purely Hypethetical)

What if I were to racially profile you and assume that you are involved in organised crime/mafia? Wouldn;t you be offended?

This is the case with all racial profiling. Some of it is ridiculous...but it happens.

The issue is much deeper. It affects all walks of life. I often get asked questions about Basketball and Hiphop because I happen to be Black, why should people assume that I am involved in theses activities?

Do you see why Racial profiling is deeply offensive at times?

If Italians in my area were responsible for most of the crime, then I would agree with it. Simple as that.

You keep on bringing up this black issue. Very sorry to hear this.

However since you bring it up. Blacks in North America do the vast amount of the pety crime. Are more prone to be in a gang and more prone to murder each other, than an Asian, white or even muslim.

So in response to this, local law enforcement target them, especially when you have groups. Its the chicken and egg theory I guess.

Not to turn this into a "black" issue or muslim issue, so I will use "group".

When you have a group that is committing the vast majority of the crime, how do you fight it?

All I'm hearing is that its not right.

My area has a problem with east indian gangsters. I want the cops to target East Indians.

The problem is simple mate, the vast majority of the group don't do anything wrong, however if they decide to "act" like a gangster, by driving hoped up Escalades and wearing gangster clothing, and doing suspicious things in the middle of the night, then everything is thrown out the window as far as I'm concerned. Pull them over and question them...maybe they'll think twice about acting like wannabee gangsters.

That is my take.

For the record, when Italians and the Irish came to North America, they were treated like crap, and for good reason. They committed the crime!

...btw, its this pussy footing around atitude is the reason that North American organized crime is growing, especially in Canada.

In Italy we use special forces to battle the mob, its the only way. And they have less things to tie them down.

Believe me, if it was for them, the mob would really be in control of everything, not that they aren't now.

However don't kid yourself, the only diifference between Italy and England is that the mob is seen. In England, you don't know who the mob is or what the hell is going on, until its too late.

This is happening in Canada, and has already happened in America.

In Italy we know who they are, and we keep close tabs on them, however being the "mob", they are hard to catch, and hard to catch with their "hands" in the cookie jar.

Regardless; no matter what nation i do not believe in it.

It has been proven in most cases that racial profiling increases violence as the average moderate now see's themselves as oppressed with a need to fight back.

Why dont we limit this to Canada...since obviously its happening here as well.Nearly every gang here has more whites asians or middle eastern folk then black people.

This statistic about black people causing more alleged petty crime...and for that murder has to be backed up.If you want to throw around stuff like that bring out some reliable numbers otherwise you wont be taken seriously.

ALSO if you just so happen to watch the media report on crimes and done by a certain group I really hope that you actually asked yourself hmmm theres a trend going along here...The poorer you are the more crimes you are going to commit...not the color of your skin determines how much crime rate there is....

And in my area its the white adolescents who go around in their mom's car breaking windows and beating up folks who are walking on their sidewalks....Does that mean every white person should be checked out?God forbid that would be a field day for journalists....no they wont.Would you like to know why...Once more Government tactic to instill fear in the public and get voted in.

Again.Its your income class that determines the crime rates.You'll notice that its substantially higher for the lower bracket to cause more crime then the higher one.Despite my little monologue up there.
