Do you believe in the UFO/Paranormal phenomena?
I for one, pretty fascinated with the subject. I think there are dead souls lurking out there....especially ones who are demonic living where a tragedy has occured. I've seen many shows about this and it really is interesting. I've never experience activity but the more I hear peoples stories, I'm becoming more of a believer. Although, a great number of people immerse themselves in qualitative research through participant-observer approaches to the paranormal.
Do you believe or do you think it's irrelevant?

Humans are different, in that we give off a lot of energy for our mass, compared to other animals.. Huge brain possibly?
In a nutshell, I believe something is happening.

Dead souls....not so much.Although you can never rule it out.Hell Shaq said when I die I want to become a Jinn which is flipping hilarious yet scary at the same time.
I do believe in Demons.Just like we are made from dust they are made from Fire and can only be seen when they want to be seen.Possession has always creeped me out though. Not a fan of talking about it though.I know of 2 people whom it happened to.This shit is not funny stuff.

Dude my cousin went back to africa and some of the stories he was tellin me is not right. This stuff is seriously messed up.
He went into a Mosk and took a wrong turn....ended up nearly dead with some chained people nearly taking his head off.Luckily the local Imam grabbed him before the possessed fellow did.
The way my cousin was talking ...he was scared beyond belief. This stuff is way to serious.
On a lighter note.Doesnt the Pope have to do 3 live excorcisms in order to become...well the pope?

Don't believe in any of it. TV programs about paranormal phenomena are usually bollocks. They don't take a subjective look at anything, they make it seem as plausible and as real as possible because it makes for better TV and viewing figures.
I remember seeing a program about some experiment some guy did, he took a loads of photos of a series of tunnels (sorry can't really remember the details on that bit) and used them to created a virtual reality 3D map of the area. The thing with these tunnels is they were supposed to be haunted, with lots of people claiming to have seen ghosts in them. He sat people down, got them to put on a headset and to explore the virtual world. Several of them saw ghosts.
IMO people genuinely believe they see ghosts but they don't. The human brain is an amazingly powerful thing and anyone who has even seen an optical illusion will know we don't always see what we think we are seeing.
As for demons, poltergeists, clairvoyant 'mediums', all that stuff. Bollocks.
Kind of on this subject I'd recommend the book 'Tricks of the Mind' by Derren Brown. It covers a wide range of things but the general theme is influencing the way people think.
Quote:
Derren Brown's television and stage performances have entranced and dumbfounded millions. His baffling illusions and stunning set pieces - such as "The Seance", "Russian Roulette" and "The Heist" - have set new standards of what's possible, as well as causing more than their fair share of controversy. Now, for the first time, he reveals the secrets behind his craft, what makes him tick and just why he grew that beard. "Tricks of the Mind" takes you on a journey into the structure and psychology of magic. Derren teaches you how to read clues in people's behaviour and spot liars. He discusses the whys and wherefores of hypnosis and shows you how to do it. And he investigates the powers of suggestion and how you can massively improve the power of your memory. He also takes a long hard look at the paranormal industry, and looks at why some of us feel the need to believe in it in the first place...Alternately hilarious, controversial and challenging, "Tricks ofthe Mind" is essential reading for Derren's legions of fans, and pretty bloody irresistible even if you don't like him that much...

Though just to play "devil's advocate", your going by your cousin....so if he is lying or telling the truth is just not known...not saying they are liars.
Secondly, mental illness or possessed?

I'd go for either on drugs or with some disease/illness that has messed up their mind.

Now to counter you Russell, I have seen some wierd shit, with images being photographs, digital or analog. Highlights of a human....that passes, and you see the image when they take a pic of a certain part of the house.
That is unexplained.

Nah I didnt even include the 2 people I said earlier with my cousin's story. This was serious stuff and was told first hand by the Imam that they were actually possessed.
Super human strength apparently. If that man had grabbed his head he'd had never let go the Imam told him.I dont think they would have locked him up in a Mosk if he had a Mental illness
Seriously though this stuff does happen.Happens all around us.There are good demons and bad ones.Stuff gets blown out of proportion on TV though.

Something that kind of looks like a human figure appearing unexpectedly in photos?
We think nothing of it if random shapes form anything else in photos but the second it looks vaguely human it is a ghost.
It is the same with morons seeing Mother Teresa on bread roll or the Pope in a fire.

Well than, he must have been possessed if they locked him up.
Maybe it is because I'm an atheist but I'm genuinely surprised people actually still believe in Demons in the 21st century. Each to their own though.
