science answers, ' what kind of world do we live in?'
religion answers ' why is there a universe at all?'
apparently, anyway

If god exists, like I have said many times before, we should be living in a pain-free world.
If god is so great, why can't he wipe out pain ?
I'll tell you why. Because he does NOT exist.
Post all you want. Claim this and claim that, but your god has never existed.
I have 2 friends who became christians for a few years. They aren't anymore. Why?
Because they admitted that they had psychological problems and started believing in god as a way out of it. When they knew what their problem was, they were fine.
I rest my case.
Don't get me wrong. I wish there was a god, but there so obviously isn't. So just get on with your lives.
And dread the day when that big rock hits us.

This is the question I pose to you: Do you ever wonder what God requires of you?Do you think He's just this big bearded fellow in the sky who serves the purpose of satisfying all your desires and no diseases, happy clappy ect?Don't you ever think that we mankind as a whole deserve NOTHING for all we have sinned against our fellow men,not to mention the Living God?The fact that a remnant of people are saved for eternity shows that God is a God of mercy and much grace. But He also a God of justice, and mankind has not suffered an inkling of what it deserves for all it's sins.
We deserve nothing, and what God deserves we in our own power could NEVER give, all thanks be to Him for giving us the absolute assistance.

..though this doesn't disprove that God exists or not. Not really sure where you are going with this?

You nor I can prove that there is a God. Nobody on here will prove that.
My point is that 2 friends of mine tried the Christian thing out. They admit that they loved it, but that neither God nor Jesus actually came into their lives. It was all in their heads. They believed that it happened, but then admitted that it didn't.
My point is that God is a figment of people's imagination.

Well then the same can be said about a headache....can you show me your headache? no its in your head...but you certainly know/think that your head is hurting but you cant physically show people that.
You're old enough to make you're own decisions but by god over 80% of the world's population beliefs in a higher being(s)....whose to say you're right and we're wrong?
Personally I think its more important on weather or not your a good person in general.

Unfortuantely, that doesn't prove that God doesn't exist. You can twist as many times as you like. You either believe or not. There is no way to prove or disprove. And unfortunately, your friend's experience is just that, and is not the end all.
God could very well exist, but could of been creator that got things started. We just don't know.
God could be a super alien race or higher power.
We just don't know.

I appreciate both your comments, but be honest with yourselves.
Do you seriously believe that your "soul" transfers to somewhere beautiful ? If you do, then you will have everlasting life I suppose.
But I have always thought that those who believe in their God are afraid of death. Because death means an end to the life that they have enjoyed. We all die. We are here for a while and then we die. End of story.
IMO, we don't go anywhere except into a coffin and into the ground or furnace.
But who am I or anybody else to say what happens when we die ? Because we do not know, do we ? Yes we have idiots tell us that they have come back from the dead etc. We have 80% of the world's population (in sinoy's opinion) telling us that we go to heaven. How do they know ? Have they been there ? Or have they just read those books that we call the Bible and the Qu'ran ?
It is an abyss. Nobody knows and it's all down to opinion.
And mine is that when you die, that's it. No heaven nor hell. Just peace.

Not heaven but an afterlife.Weather thats Re-incarnation or heaven/hell is totally up to the person.
It's your opinion mate.Weather you choose to believe in a higher being or life after death is totally up to you.
EDIT: Do you believe in a spirit? That theres some form or essence that makes you...you?Sorry about the wording but I just woke up

there is positive "energy" in the sense that we don't completely die
humans give off an "aura" it has been proven as opposed to other living things
some people say its the brain but we don't know
scientists don't know
nobody knows

Your flopping around like a fish that I caught off my scooner off the coast for crying out loud.
The question was "God", not the fine details of religion.
The exsistence of God has not been proven or disproven. That is the question.
As to what you believe or not is beside the point.
I believe that Mr Brightside is an idiot for example, if its true or not is beside the point, since it is my opinion, and NO its not based on fact. Understand?
Also this non sense about death, how old are you?
If you under 25, then there is really no point in continuing this conversation.
Since you only seem to put down people that don't agree with you, or belittle those that don't share the same thought process as yourself.
