I don't think so.

If God so loved the world, he isn't going about showing it is he ?

I mean, I love my wife, but if I had the power to give her cancer, I obviously wouldn't.

But there are so many christians who love their god, and he gives them diseases and cancers on a daily basis.

The Minister who married me died of cancer about 3 years ago. He was a wonderful man and a great advert for christianity, but he died of cancer. Now, I might be wrong here, but nobody could have loved God more than this man, and he got cancer.

How is that fair ?

You can tell me anything. But if there was a god, he surely wouldn't have allowed such a proud christian man to die such a horrible death.

I rest my case.

I am not religious myself.. I don't believe in God, but I learn alot about catholicism
(because I go to a catholic school, I have to take it, bloody annoying)

This is what a catholic would say Heinze:

If the minister died believing in God etc which I'm sure he did that means he will go to heaven. Heaven is a state of mind (not a place..) where you are with God (therefore you are happy). So, dying isn't a bad thing if you go to a better place..

I don't know why God gives people diseases. I will ask my RE techer i'm sure he'll have an answer :P

& reading posts on the previous page.

noah ark is a madeup story that was designed to help little kids understand the catholic teaching, no one says its true? ( i think..)

I'm sorry kid but you really need to listen to your parents or guardians. I appreciate what you say.

I don't want to come across as being patronising, but heaven being a state of mind is a new one on me.

So we are now talking about dying and going to a part of your dead brain where everything will be OK ????

Heaven is a state of mind ?

Is that what the Catholic Church is teaching ????

Actually, Noah's ark is not made up per say, apparently there was a huge flood in ancient times, as there seems to be a "flood" story in many cultures.

..and has been linked to the formation of the black sea apparently.

Fine.

I think it's actually laughable.

A flood, yes. The earth covered in water and the animals going in 2 by 2 ?

I'm not debating that, I'm just telling you that Scientists believe there was a very big flood that flooded a huge area around the black sea. To those people, the whole world was flooded.

Apparently Government officials are hiding Noah's ark.Its alleged to be in the himalayas.I saw a documentary on it and how they believe they've located the ship/large boat.It was pretty damn interesting.

I don't believe that for one second. They thought they located it on Mt Arat in Turkey, but that was proven wrong.

I think its called that...but it was in Turkey, not the himalayas.

Noah's Ark probably doesn't exist. It's part of a story.

We are all sinners who deserve eternal hellfire.People love to spring the "God so loved the world" verse and compare diseases to it.The fact is you people don't read! You aren't looking at the context of this verse.First of all Jesus is talking to a Teacher of Israel,He saying "God doesn't just love the Jews,he loves people of all nationalities."You're probably saying:What the hell is he on about? The thing is that in this time God had only ever revealed Himself to the Jewish people,so someone saying "God so loved the world" would be astonishing and radical to a Jewish mindset at that time. Now God so loves the world true, but man also has responsibility,God demands mans obedience. He's not just letting it come easy for man.

This is the question I pose to you: Do you ever wonder what God requires of you?Do you think He's just this big bearded fellow in the sky who serves the purpose of satisfying all your desires and no diseases, happy clappy ect?Don't you ever think that we mankind as a whole deserve NOTHING for all we have sinned against our fellow men,not to mention the Living God?The fact that a remnant of people are saved for eternity shows that God is a God of mercy and much grace. But He also a God of justice, and mankind has not suffered an inkling of what it deserves for all it's sins.

We deserve nothing, and what God deserves we in our own power could NEVER give, all thanks be to Him for giving us the absolute assistance.

This has been talked about many times on many forums on the net and otherwise.

God creates human, he doesn't make them perfect, so they sin, then punishes them for sinning? So why didn't he make them perfect from the begining?

Or your going to say to test us I bet...so he is playing a game?

I can't disprove or prove that God exists, and in some ways I do believe in a higher power.

I just don't think he works the way people like yourself believe.

He did create them perfect."And God saw all the creation, and behold it was good."

Man chose to fall by disobeying God.People like to laugh at the Adam and Eve story:Hahahaha they ate the fruit, ect. But this is truth. It's not the eating of the fruit, but why they ate the fruit. The serpent said "Has God said to not eat the fruit or you shall die?You will not die,God knows that the day you eat the fruit you will become like gods."And so they believed the devil(who just called God a liar) and ate.Ever since then man has fallen from his perfectness. So it is our fault, not God's,he's not playing any games.Isn't this exactly how the majority of mankind is today?Everyone wants to things their way, friends the majority of mankind are all but saying "We are all gods and goddesses" an ancient curse that we brought on ourselves.Thank God Jesus pays the penalty for His people,go see the curses pronounced after man fell.

So you believe in the Adam and Eve story literally?? You believe all humans descended from two white individuals, and they all evolved into all the differenent races in ten thousand years?? Assuming you believe in the planet being only ten thousand years?

This is where I have my problem, there could be a "God", but the people of the time could of not understood concepts such as evolution or the planet being 3 billion years old, or that dinosaurs existed sixty five million years ago.
