Default Serie B' MD2: Parma - Albinoleffe [16-09-08]

Serie B: Leffe-Parma postponed Wednesday 3 September, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parma's Week 2 Serie B trip to Albinoleffe has been rescheduled due to international call-ups, leaving the Ducali with a fixture pile-up.

The newly relegated Emilia-Romagna outfit were due to travel to Bergamo this Sunday to take on the Second Division's notorious giant-killers.

However, Albinoleffe director general Nicola Bignotti has confirmed that the fixture will now be played on Tuesday September 16.

“We will prepare for this test with the friendly that we will play against Torino,” he explained on Video Bergamo.

“The friendly against a Serie A side will be a very prestigious game and it will help us maintain our rhythm and concentration.”

Leffe and Parma will now have to play four games in 11 days as the pace in Italy's second tier becomes frantic.

Gigi Cagni's men opened their season with a frustrating 1-1 draw against Rimini at the Stadio Tardini.

Albinoleffe 1-0 Parma (Sep 16)
Parma tumbled in Bergamo with this rescheduled game due to the number of players away on international duty, but Albinoleffe go top of the table with this result and third straight clean sheet. It was a special goalscorer, as Ruopolo was a Parma youth team player.
Scorers: Ruopolo 63 (P)
