Default OFFICIAL: Parma bring Pegolo in on loan

Quote:
Pegolo Joins Parma
Goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo has joined Parma from Genoa in what is believed to be a season-long loan deal.

The 27 year old was originally linked with the Crociati (as well as Salernitana) earlier on in the week with a loan deal involving Radek Petr going the other way. However, it was announced today that Petr will spend the season on loan at Pro Patria and so the Pegolo loan deal is a more straightforward one than originally expected.

Pegolo started his career at Fiorenzuola before spending six seasons with Verona. He was snapped up by Genoa in 2007 but immediately placed on loan at Mantova where he made a strong impression last season. It is unclear at this stage whether he or Nicola Pavarini will be the first choice between the Parma sticks in Serie B this season.

In my opinion he is great keeper especially when he was at Verona and I really hope he does well for us as the clubs No.1

Top keeper, no doubt.

I'm a little gutted because he still hasn't been given a fair crack at Serie A football but if he's gonna be the number one at Parma it's better than him sitting on the bench at Genoa.

But yeah, great move for both parties.
