Parma crisis deepens
Adriano better join INTER... :x
The financial crisis at Parma has deepened with the news that patron Calisto Tanzi has been arrested as part of the Parmalat scandal. It could result in the club having to sell its top stars like Adriano just to survive.
The dairy giants will be declared bankrupt this week after £2.6bn went missing from their bank accounts.
As Parmalat own 98 percent of the club’s shares, this means AC Parma could go under during the shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday.
“Either Parmalat transfer their credit with the club into funds to increase the capital,” explained director general Patrick Nebiolo, “or the alternative is liquidation.”
If they do manage to find the necessary cash before December 31, then that doesn’t mean the team will survive intact.
Many top stars are expected to be sold during the January transfer window with Hidetoshi Nakata already in advanced negotiations with Bologna.
Adriano too has confessed he could leave the Tardini earlier than predicted. “I did hear about the Parmalat crisis,” said the Brazilian during his Christmas trip back to Rio.
“It is a terrible affair and I hope it can be solved quickly. I don’t know what my future holds, but obviously it will be affected by this situation.”
Adriano is half-owned by Inter, but as Parma retain the other 50 percent of his contract they can offer it to the highest bidder. The major stumbling block for the Nerazzurri is the fact that Chelsea are interested in taking the giant Brazilian striker.
Other players who could move on include Gilardino – who is being tracked by Juventus – Ferrari, Bonera, Bresciano and another Chelsea target Sebastien Frey.

Parma buy time for January sales
Crisis-hit Parma have staved off bankruptcy for another week by delaying today’s meeting, but this makes mass sales even more likely.
The club was set to hold a shareholders’ meeting this afternoon in which the Capital would be raised in order to avoid liquidation.
Fresh funds cannot come from the majority shareholders Parmalat, as the dairy giants are at the centre of Italy’s biggest financial fraud scandal.
President Calisto Tanzi is under arrest in a Milan prison and has reportedly admitted to taking £330m from the Parmalat bank accounts for himself, although the whereabouts of this sum is still unclear.
Tanzi’s creative accounting means that the estimated figure of Parmalat’s debts are rising every day and are now thought to be in the region of £7bn.
However, there is hope yet for AC Parma, as Parmalat are registered as owing the football club a total of £53m.
If the authorities will accept this credit, then the Capital can be raised and the club can avoid bankruptcy for the time being.
This will buy them enough time to sell off several stars in the January transfer window and bring in some ready cash.
“From my meeting with Parmalat administrator Enrico Bondi,” revealed Gialloblu President Stefano Tanzi, “will emerge the decisions that involve AC Parma, its players and fans.”
The side needs another £27m in order to continue playing football in Serie A until the end of the season.
The imminent sale of Adriano will bring in approximately £18m of that sum, as Inter are ready to bring the Brazilian back now in order to stave off competition from Chelsea.
“An agreement with the Nerazzurri does exist,” explained Tanzi, “and we must now decide whether to adjust it or confirm that deal.”
It is still not enough to save the Tardini outfit, so Italian internationals Daniele Bonera and Marco Marchionni are on their way out.
Bonera has long been a target for Juventus, while Milan are now showing interest in promising winger Marchionni.
Goalkeeper Sebastien Frey can spark a bidding war between Chelsea and Bayern Munich, while Hidetoshi Nakata is days away from completing his move to Bologna.

Parma deny Gilardino deal
Quote:
Parma chief officer Luca Baraldi has denied that Alberto Gilardino's move to Milan is done and dusted.
The electric 22-year-old has been widely expected to move to Carlo Ancelotti's side after another fantastic season in Serie A.
Gilardino scored 24 league goals, including a vital strike to keep Gialloblu in the top flight in the relegation play-off with Bologna, on way to cementing his place as one of Europe's hottest prospects.
After stating that he is keen to remain to Italy to enhance his chances of making the Azzurri squad for the World Cup finals it was anticipated that he was close to wrapping up a move to The Rossoneri.
However, Baraldi has now revealed that he is not expecting a conclusion to the saga on Wednesday, and appeared to leave the door open to further suitors Chelsea and Real Madrid.
"It's not possible that tomorrow we would be able to define everything about Gilardino," said Baraldi.
"Milan are interested in the player, so are other clubs."
After seeing off Bologna 2-1 in midweek Gialloblu are now turning their attentions to a busy summer in the transfer market.
Star shot-stopper Sebastian Frey has recently been linked with a move to Fiorentina, whilst Baraldi admitted to have an interest in Brescia star Andrea Caracciolo - although his reported €12 million price tag could prove prohibitive.
"Until Saturday we thought of the play-offs, from today we think about the market," Baraldi continued.
Negotiations will start today, for the other Parma players I don't know.
"Caracciolo as a possible replacement? He's a really good player, but Parma must think first of the financial aspect."

Gilardino fee rocks Milan!
Alberto Gilardino’s move to Milan is again in doubt as a result of Parma’s asking price for the striker.
Gialloblu transfer chief Luca Baraldi met with Adriano Galliani this morning, but the latter admitted there was one major problem blocking the swoop.
"Gilardino wants to join Milan and we want him," the Vice-president stated. "But there is some difference between their request and our offer.
"Nothing has been resolved for now. At this moment in time, the figures being mentioned are out of our reach."
Parma are believed to have lowered their initial valuation of £35m to £25m, but that is still seemingly too high for the Rossoneri.
That may now let other clubs join the race, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter and Juventus also keen.
"I don’t think this transfer will be resolved quickly," Baraldi stated. "We had this meeting with Milan today so you can say we have started negotiations.
"But we will now speak to other clubs, who have asked to remain nameless, after making initial enquiries for our player.
"Chelsea? There has been contact on a number of occasions but that is the case with other clubs too."
Gilardino was hoping to have his future resolved by the end of this week, but Baraldi has warned that his transfer could turn into a saga.
"This is a very complicated move because Parma do need to build a new side for next season," he added.

Report: Parma take-over complete!!
http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/jun28k.html
Swiss radio has announced that Ticino Hosting have completed their £20m take-over of Parma, but the club has denied these reports.
The last few days have seen several newspapers in Italy report that the Internet company was in negotiations to buy the troubled club.
Parma were placed under administration after owners Parmalat were hit by a financial scandal and have been looking for new shareholders ever since.
"There was no meeting in Lugano and there is no deal," insisted Gialloblu President Guido Angiolini. "However, if we are to do anything, it'll be before June 30."
Ticino Hosting are owned by Naples-born businessman Gaetano Valenza and are allegedly eager to bring Parma back to their former glory by keeping hold of £25m-rated Alberto Gilardino and bringing in Coach Zdenek Zeman and ex-Roma director Franco Baldini.
Meanwhile, the Gialloblu have sold Amauri to Chievo, bought up the remaining 50 per cent of Matteo Contini and renewed their co-ownership deals for Emiliano Bonazzoli (Reggina), Ferronetti (Roma), Massaro (Milan) and Ruffini (Pro Sesto).
Parma are not the only club looking at new ownership, as recently relegated Venezia must find new cash if they are to avoid bankruptcy. A group of fans have now proposed to start again with Public Company Venezia United.

Gilardino chase wide open
http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...lia/jul4a.html
Parma have admitted that Milan, Inter and Chelsea are all still in the running to sign star striker Alberto Gilardino.
The Italian international was believed to be on the verge of joining the Rossoneri, but talks stalled over the Tardini outfit’s £25m asking price.
"The situation is still open even if it is clear that only the big clubs can afford the costs involved," sporting director Oreste Cinquini said.
"I have spoken a few times to (Inter owner Massimo) Moratti, while (Milan chief Adriano) Galliani has given us the freedom to talk to other clubs.
"Something could happen at Chelsea too because they have been left unsatisfied with Didier Drogba’s year.
"He is a great player but his strike rate isn’t very high. Chelsea have a defensive set-up and need a striker who can take chances."
Cinquini refused to reveal exactly how much Parma were expecting for the player but did confirm it was a sizeable amount.
"I won’t mention figures but he is an important player," he added. "Despite Parma’s problems in the past season, he confirmed his potential which is a tough thing to do in football."
However, Cinquini did go on to add that the player could still be at the Stadio Tardini next term.
"If someone important buys the club then they could block his sale but that isn’t the case at the minute," he said.
"We just want to be realistic. We know certain figures are out of reach for some clubs but we are talking about a young champion."

Sanz completes Parma move
Former Real Madrid supremo Lorenzo Sanz has completed his buyout of Serie A strugglers Parma.
Sanz paid Gialloblu's president Guido Angiolini the second part of an agreed fee on Friday - with a figure of €20 million having been mooted to have been added to an initial payment of €7.5 million.
An official announcement is expected in the next few days, once the money has been cashed by the existing owners.
Early reports are suggesting that Sanz's son, Lorenzo jr, will be given the responsibility of being the club's new president.
Sanz's arrival will mark the end a period the financially stricken outfit will be keen to put to bed, with the era of former president Calisto Tanzi not a time that will be remembered fondly.
if they only had kept Gilardino...

Parma Calciomercato/News Thread
Following the post-match Press conference on Sunday Cardone was asked what he would do as Sampdoria have offered Vitali Kutuzov in exchange for Cardone leaving on loan.
His response was:
Quote:
|
Non lo so. La situazione particolare. Quando si parlava circa due settimane fa di queste notizie uscite sui giornali, non ne sapevo davvero nulla. Ora qualcosa ho saputo, ma credo che non sia una cosa che dipende solo da me.
|
Basically means he knows of Parma's situation and would leave for Samp if it was to help out Parma.
I think its admirable but practically selling your captain halfway through the season when Parma's problem is conceding, not scoring seems like a very wrong move should it go ahead and I will personally batter Oreste Cinquini if it happens.

You are right about this. I think Parma ranked last in terms of goals against? They are worst?

Parma Transfer Targets
Oreste Cinquini told TV Parma yesterday of Parma's hopes in the transfer market. These are the possible targets of Cinquini and Sanz' agent Julen Lopategui:
Nicolas Burdisso
Club: Inter
Loan

David Pizarro
Club: Inter
Loan

Santiago Ezquerro
Club: Athletic Bilbao
Loan

Endika Bordas
Club: Athletic Bilbao
Loan

Antonio Guayre
Club: Villarreal
Loan

Andres Iniesta
Club: Barcelona
Loan
Ernesto Valverde
Manager
Click here for articleSeems pretty reasonable by Cinquini, playing it safe in case Sanz doesnt come. if he does then he can secure the players Oreste loans now.

As stated earlier, I don't think Burdisso will be available, he is slowly getting more playing time, and he can play all of the defensive positions, not too mention on wing. He also seems to be a favourite of Mancini.
In regards to Pizarro, I hope its true. But does Pizarro want to go to Parma?
I always thought he would end up in Roma some how?

Burdisso is a player I like...I think he has big potential....It won't be in Inter's interests to loan him out.
Iniesta is the same...Barca might have done a deal at the beginning of the season, but not now.
Pizarro isnt going anywhere...but if he did it wouldnt be on loan and it wouldnt be to a Parma size club.
Ezquerro and the rest are decent possibilities.

Parma primed for Riki raid
http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/jan26e.html
Quote:
Parma are lining up a bid for Getafe striker Ivan Sanchez Rico Soto, otherwise known as Riki, according to reports in Italy.
Riki is liked by prospective Parma President Lorenzo Sanz, who has been an admirer of the centre-forward ever since he first made his mark in the Real Madrid B team during the 2003-04 season with 20 goals.
Former Real chief Sanz has made the 25-year-old his top priority as soon as he has completed his long-awaited purchase of the Emilian club.
Riki, who has been at Getafe for the past two seasons and has a £4m release clause in his contract, is said to have already informed the Spanish club of his intention to move to Italy.
Sanz was expected to wrap up his swoop for the struggling Tardini outfit last week, but the take-over has again been delayed.
He had paid a £5.8m deposit last year, but has failed to settle the remaining £13m before the agreed deadline.
