A lot of Racing's good season has to do with Marcelino the new young coach. He got Recre to finish 8th last season for their first ever survival in Primera in 4 attempts and now he's got Racing to 6th place currently in Primera with a mediocre squad. They also lost Zigic in the summer and didn't really replace him but they don't look like they're struggling at the moment.

Danny Szetela hasn't played a game for Racing yet so he hasn't been given any chances.

A problem with Racing for me is that they're not scoring enough goals. They've only scored 20 goals in 20 games and have the same amount conceded. In comparison Sevilla who are just behind them have 39 goals scored.

Jorge Lopez is their top goalscorer with just 4 goals. In another comparison the team they play today is Zaragoza who have Milito as top scorer with 13 goals and Zaragoza are a full 5 places behind Racing.

They're depending on Marcelino's tactics and their rock solid defence to win every game by a little amount of goals. They should buy a striker to take some of the stress off the rest of the team because if the team goes into a slump in form then it may cost them a European place.

I don't know much about him to be honest, I just remember him as a name.

Just checked some details, he has spent his season on loan at Turkey. And just yesterday Gladbach terminated his contract.

I should update the Bundesliga transfers thread now, Ze Antonio to Racing.
