Default Levante S.A.D

Quote:
Levante are reported to be ready to put Ian Harte up for sale this summer.

Harte has been continually linked with a move away from Levante ever since his arrival in Spain in the summer of 2004.

Fresh reports emanating from Spain suggest Levante are now prepared to listen to offers for Harte at the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international has struggled to break into the Levante side this season making just four appearances so far this term.

Harte was remaining coy about his future insisting he was only focusing on regaining his place in the team.

"My objective is to play," said Harte.

Sunderland are thought to be monitoring Harte's situation at Levante and they could offer the former Leeds man a route back to England in the summer.

Meanwhile, Levante are reported to be lining up a move for Villarreal's Rodolfo Arrubarrena as a possible replacement for Harte.

The Argentine has confirmed he is set to leave Villarreal in the summer when his contract expires and Levante are thought to be at the head of the queue for his signature.

If he's not playing then he might as well look elsewhere for first team football, although Levante won't get much more than the price of a packet of crisps for him.

Default Levante close on Viqueira

Quote:
Recreativo de Huelva midfielder Emilio Viqueira is poised to pen a contract for next season with Levante.

The midfielder's contract at Recre is winding down and Levante president Pedro Villarroel has said the player will switch clubs in June.

Recre were keen to extend the midfielder's deal, but he has had his head turned by an offer from Levante.

Viqueira has failed to nail down a regular starting berth at Recre this term and clearly feels his chances will be greater at Levante.

Default Levante look to loan Paletta

Quote:
Liverpool defender Gabriel Paletta could be set for a loan move to Spain with Levante.

Reports emanating from Spain suggest Levante have expressed an interest in taking the Argentine ace on loan for the whole of next season.

The 21-year-old joined Liverpool from Banfield last summer, but he struggled to establish himself in Rafa Benitez's first-team plans.

Paletta made only eight appearances for the Reds last term and he is well down the pecking order of defenders at Anfield.

Benitez is believed to have given the loan move to Levante the green light as he is keen for the South American to gain some valuable first-team experience.

The deal does not include any option for Levante to make the move permanent as Paletta is tipped for a big future at Liverpool.

Default Levante add two more

Quote:
Levante's busy summer in the transfer market continues apace with the Valencia-based outfit wrapping up two more deals.

The Primera side have presented both striker Alexandre Geijo, who has moved from Xerez, and Serbian goalkeeper Vladan Kujovic.

Geijo was originally scheduled to join last summer but a contractual wrangle - that was ultimately settled by the LFP (Spanish League) - saw him ordered to stay on at Xerez.

The 24-year-old admitted the episode had rendered last season as something of a "mental block", but is now looking to demonstrate his ability in the top flight.

"When a Primera team is following you and you have the chance to make the step up everything changes," he stated. "I hope to prove myself in the Primera."

Kujovic (pictured) arrives from Roda JC after coming to the end of his contract in Holland.

The 28-year-old will replace veteran Jose Francisco Molina who left Levante earlier in the summer and the Serb is relishing his chance to play in Spain.

"I want to improve and this is a step forward in my career," he explained. "I have played for the last five years in Holland and this is a big step forward."

Levante have now signed seven players this summer with Shota Arveladze (AZ Alkmaar), Bruno Cirillo (AEK Athens), Emilio Viqueira (Recreatico de Huelva), Savio (Real Sociedad) and David Castedo (Sevilla) having already agreed moves.

Default MD8: Levante v Sevilla

V

Date:Saturday, October 20, 2007
Time: 19:00 UK
Stadium: Ciutat de Valencia

Previous Meetings
La Liga 06/07 Levante 2 - 4 Sevilla
La Liga 04/05 Levante 0 - 3 Sevilla

This should be an easy game for sevilla, but with their form this season they may end up making a mess out of it. We all had high expectations for them in the beginning of the season. I thought they would push for the league title even harder than last season and pull of a great debut in the cl just like Villarreal 2 seasons ago, but the yellow submarines also had trouble in the league and to an even bigger extent celta vigo ended up getting relegated after getting into the champions league.

Though I think this mainly has to do with puerta’s death. I know that it has been an excuse used a lot this season, but it must have caused them a lot of mental problems. A team mate of yours dieing on the pitch

Though now I think that juande ramos needs to try and use puertas death to motivate the team. Tell them that they should realise that they have a great chance to make history and to honour it to puerta(well I think that would motivate me)

Anyways about levante. After their 3-0 loss to zaragoza last match day, levante sacked their manager Abel Resino and replaced him with the Italian Gianni De Biasi. He did well for modena between 2000-2003 leading them to serie A promotion and then leaving them after reaching a very good 13th position. He then subsequently trained brescia and has done well during his time at torino.

He has a really big task ahead of him and it will be a miracle if he saves levante from relegation.

Despite all Sevilla’s problems I still predict a comfortable win for them.

Default MD13: Levante 4 -3 Real Betis

4 - 3

Tommasi(39)_____________Munoz(9)
Riga(41,50)______________Edu(pen 25)
Fuego(81)_______________Pavone(52)

Betis are really in big trouble. They let levante win this game after being two goals up early in the game. Their defence is terrible and made a lot of mistakes today which lead to most of levante’s goals.

It looks like riga is final adding an end product to his game with 2 goals taken nicely. He caused Betis’s defence all sorts of problems and they really couldn’t handle his pace/strength. A very big win for a levante side who many consider the weakest in the league. They have now won 3 games out of 4. They will be very confident now and could put in a good fight against relegation.

Looks like Betis will suffer even worse in the coming weeks with them playing against Atletico Madrid and Villarreal in their next two games. Their only hope is in Pavone who looks like their main threat, since he has gotten 2 goals in the last 3 games for them. His goal tonight was amazing tbh.
