Mallorca
Quote:
Pierre Webo is set to join Real Mallorca after being persuaded to try his luck at the Ono Estadi by compatriot Daniel Kome.
The Cameroonian forward left Osasuna at the end of last season after four successful years at the Reyno de Navarra and has been searching for a new club.
Webo is now expected to put pen-to-paper on a deal with Mallorca as soon as he passes a medical.
Negotiations between player and club were set to remain deadlocked until Webo sought the advice of Kome.
"I talked to Webo and he asked me a lot of questions about Real Mallorca," Kome told Marca.
"I told him that the atmosphere in the dressing room is great, where everyone gets on and that the directors are all very friendly.
"They have always treated me very well."
Kome expects Webo to make a big impact at Mallorca and is looking forward to his arrival.
He commented: "He is a player who will bring a great deal to the side. I really do think he will be a success.
"I know him well because we are from the same area of Cameroon."
Webo will fill the void in the Mallorca strikeforce left by the departures of Maxi Lopez, Diego Tristan and Bosko Jankovic.

J3-LFP- RCD Mallorca V Villarreal
V
Date:September 16, Sunday
Time: 17:00
Stadium:ONO Estadi

Referee:
Previous results in ONO Estadi :
Liga 06/07: Mallorca 1 - 2 Villarreal
Liga 05/06:Mallorca 1 - 1 Villarreal
Liga 04/05: Mallorca 1 - 1 Villarreal
Liga 03/04: Mallorca 1 - 2 Villarreal
Liga 02/03: Mallorca 1 - 1 Villarreal
Liga 01/02: Mallorca 0 - 1 Villarreal
3 wins and 3 draws for Villarreal at the ONO Estadi/San Moix. Mallorca will find it difficult, but they have had a really good start to the season. With a 3-0 win against levante, with Ibagaza getting 2 on the scoresheet, which will be a big boost for mallorca since he had very little influence last season and their new signing from getafe. Guiza getting 1 goal. They were lucky to get a draw against atletico in their next game, but has probably given them a lot of confidence.
Whilst villarreal have had a very indifferent start to the season. Beating a poor valencia side 3-0 at the mestalla and then the following week getting hammered by real madrid 5-0
I think mallorca have a good chance of getting something out of this game.

Mallorca 0 - 1 Villarreal
___________Nihat(83)
Good win for Villarreal, but mallorca didn’t deserve to lose. Ibagaza is having a great start to the season and was so near to scoring in the opening minutes.
Nihat looked good and will be important for Villarreal since they need a replacement for forlan. Ended up scoring with a well placed free kick.
Guiza scored for mallorca, but was ruled out for offside. He looks like he may finally be the striker to get mallorca 10+ goals.

4 - 2
_________________________________Ibagaza(53) _______________Sousa(1,47)
___________________________________Arango (70,78)
___________________________________Ramis(89)
Amazing comeback by mallorca in this game. They were down by 2 goals by the 47th min and ended up winning this game 4-2
Though they were given a helping hand by the referee. Getafe were harshly punished by the ref for celestini pulling down mallorca’s Navarro and to be honest there was very minimal contact. Ibagaza then calmly slotted away the penalty.
So the fight back began and it was very easy with a on form arango. He scored a great first goal and then his second of the game was a very nice one - two with ibagaza. Then ramis rounded of the game in 89th minute with a cool finish.
Arango and ibagaza have been great for mallorca this season. They have taken mallorca high up the table to the 7th place. Forget the fact that influential players such as Jonas/nunes are injured and they sold jankovic to hastily in the summer.
Getafe are in real trouble now. Sitting second from bottom with only 2 points from 7 games. They are also in the uefa cup, going to be one long season for them and the uefa competition may end up with them getting relegated.

MD9: Mallorca v Espanyol
V
Date:Saturday, October 27, 2007
Time: 19:00 UK
Stadium:ONO Estadi
Previous MeetingsLa Liga 06/07 Mallorca 1-0 Espanyol
La Liga 05/06 Mallorca 0-0 Espanyol
La Liga 04/05 Mallorca 3-2 Espanyol
La Liga 03/04 Mallorca 4-2 Espanyol
La Liga 02/03 Mallorca 2-0 Espanyol
La Liga 01/02 Mallorca 2-1 Espanyol
La Liga 00/01 Mallorca 3-2 Espanyol
La Liga 99/00 Mallorca 1-3 Espanyol
La Liga 98/99 Mallorca 2-0 Espanyol
La liga 97/98 Mallorca 2-2 Espanyol
Espanyol have had a great run to the season with wins against sevilla/real Madrid/Valencia. This suggests that they will be a big force to reckon with this season. They have great players going forward in luis Garcia/valdo and 2 rejuvenated players in reira/tamudo. You could say their biggest weakness is central midfield with lola/moises. Really can’t wait for zabaleta’s turn to fulfil his potential, he was great for argentina in u20 world cup in 2005, but has been unlucky with injuries.
Mallorca were everyone’s relegation candidates at the beginning of the season, but they have started the season so well. Getting 14 points from 8 games and finally being able to score goals…second highest scoring team in la liga.. Only beaten by Barcelona. Arango and ibagaza have really been great for them. Also new signing guiza from getafe has scored quite a few goals already in this campaign.
I still expect espanyol to win this game. Probably will be a high goal scoring game.

Mallorca 2 - 2 Espanyol
Arango(2)______Arango (og 21)
Guiza(69)______Tamudo (Pen 26)
Very entertaining game. In the first 10 mins or so it looked like mallorca would win this game comfortably. They had espanyol under wraps and sprung many attacks. But then it all changed after arango headed the ball into his own net. Then 5mins later ballesteros caught tamudo late in the box and got a very harsh red card.
Looked like espanyol would win this game. Since mallorca were lost for ideas. Guiza up alone with no support, arango having to spend most of his time tracking back and ibagaza playing in a very deep midfield role.
When it looked like they had no way back in this game, the ref decided to give clemente his second yellow card of the game for blocking a run made by the ex barca man Navarro. Mallorca pressured them a lot and got their reward with guiza making a great run and then finishing calmly. It looked like mallorca were going to win this game, but then guiza got a nast hand injury and had to come off.
The games pace dropped a lot during the last 5mins because of that and espanyol just wanted to get a draw. Valverde really made some weird decisions, taking of tamudo/luis Garcia and then putting on de la pena when mallorca scored
Tbh I think mallorca deserved to win this game. The understanding between the front 3 was great.

it is clear that varela looks for the shot once he gets the ball from a reasonablr distance and he usually hits the target with his shots. so I don't think it is only luck...

Mallorca really should’ve won this game, but a silly mistake by tuni cost them early on. He tried to clear things up in the back, but instead run into his own box and his clearance hit nunes. The deflected clearance landed to the feet of inigo who then produced a great finish past lux. Inigo then came close again, but his shot from the edge of the box was saved by lux.
Mallorca then came back into the game with webo scoring a header after a cross from ibagaza.
Mallorca still stay in eight place, since Zaragoza weren’t able to beat recre.
