Yeah Jonas has been linked to Barca, was for the RB spot tho strangely but he's said he's most likely going to leave Mallorca this summer. His old club still hold most of his registration I think so Mallorca won't get much.

Looks like Mallorca might lose Guiza for the 15m euros buyout clause this summer as well as Fernando Navarro who has already agreed a move to Sevilla for 9m euros and also Jonas who they'll only get about 4-5m euros for. It's a shame as they're a team on the up who rebuilt well. Hopefully they spend the money wisely on more gems and hold onto Ibagaza, Arango and Moya who have also been linked out.

Yeah he's a tricky wide man, goes on some mazy runs. Pibe is a big fan of him I think. He was in one of the most hilarious celebrations for a goal ever where he put on a Spiderman mask and started pretending to shoot webs, worth buying just to see him do that again.

Quique is being linked to everyone but I'd definately go for Jonas as he'll only cost about 8m euros.

Apparently Mallorca rejected an 8m € offer from Portsmouth back in January, even though Jonas said he wanted to move. So I'm not sure they'll let him go so easily.
And 8m € is very expensive for a Portuguese club.

Spiderman's Toon Move In Jeopardy

Kevin Keegan's first major signing of the summer is in danger of getting caught up in a hopeless tangle with the news that Real Mallorca are ready to take legal action against Jonas 'Spiderman' Gutierrez.

The Argentine winger signed a five-year deal with Newcastle earlier in the week, but only after using FIFA’s controversial article 17 rule, which allows players who are over 25 to buy out their contract if they have been with the same club for three or more years.

Mallorca's statements on the matter were stern to vague, and their case appears to be based on the fact that Gutierrez isn't actually 25 until this Saturday.

"We are unhappy with the attitude of Jonas Gutierrez and we will pursue this as a complaint," fumed Mallorca sports director Nando Pons

"We have claimed €12m (£9.5m) for the unilateral termination of the contract 'without just cause'. Mallorca will defend their interests.''

"This case has only just begun," warned club president Vicente Grande. "We will not be quiet and nobody is going to take us for fools. We at least want the €10m that Portsmouth offered us in the winter."

Güiza Completes Fenerbahçe Move

Daniel Güiza will join Luis Aragonés at Fenerbahçe after the Turkish giants agreed to Mallorca's demands to pay the tax on the €15m transfer fee.

The Spanish international will team up again with the veteran coach at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium now that the deal has been finalised after weeks of talks.

Mallorca stated that for the transfer to go ahead, Fener had to pay the €2.4m in tax on top of the €15m buy-out clause that they had already agreed to.

Güiza negotiated personal terms during the European Championships and even underwent a medical in Munich to enable every area of the move to be settled from his side.

Aragonés was insistent that Fener chiefs completed the transfer and that persuaded them to accede to Mallorca's demands and stump up the extra cash.

Now Güiza will team up with his new side in Austria later this month when they begin their pre-season preparations with a friendly game against FC Kufstein or Swindon Town.

Having impressed at Euro 2008, after being named as SPain's top league goalscorer, the 27-year-old was linked to various major European sides including Barcelona and Arsenal.

so far, the have lost 3 out of their 4 best players: guiza, ibagaza and jonas. only arrango seems to be staying.

yesterday they presented an african striker from ghana called Keita who said that he will try to be better than the pichichi - guiza.

We Need New Players In Every Position - Manzano

Gregorio Manzano has warned his players that nobody at Real Mallorca is safe from being sold because he is continuing his search for new players and some more will have to leave.

The Balearic club's boss was adamant that the current squad that will report back for pre-season training is not the one that will kick off the campaign at the end of August.

Mallorca have already brought in ten new players to take the squad up to 26 players, but Manzano wants there to plenty more wheeling and dealing.

"The squad needs strengthening in every area; defence, midfield and attack. The players that are here are not necessarily the ones that will start the season," he told the press.

"We are looking for competitive players for every position and we want at least two for every place in the team.

"I know what club I am at and how the structure is and I know what the economic possibilities are.

"But we need to sign at least four more players, at least. It would be good if it could be more. Then we will see where we stand."

Mallorca ahve already seen Dani Güiza, Ariel Ibagaza and Fernando Navarro all leave this summer and that is one reason why Manzano expects more new arrivals.

"I would have preferred it if nobody had left, but the club has to sell some players. We knew there would be sales, because Güiza, for example, was wanted by a lot of clubs," he added.

I'm sceptical about receiving near to 40m euros (if they get the 10-12m for Jonas), and then them hardly spending anything on the players in.

They'll have to be the right signings, so far they've got talents like Jurado and Suarez, the new striker Keita and Josemi from Villarreal for free for the RB position. They still need to replace Navarro, Jonas, Ibagaza and possibly Guiza if Keita is not the one.
