This guy has really been impressing me from what i've seen.One of the best defensive prospects in la liga along with the likes of Gonzalo,albiol,ramos,melli.

Has scored some great goals as well and one against real madrid last week.

Santander are building quite a side.

Garay is a pretty good young defender. He was on Argentina's 2005 U-20 champions team along with Messi, Aguero and Gago. In addition to his good defensive work he's shown he can strike the ball well on free kicks. Racing are always tricky to play at home especially with their atatcking dup of Zigic and Munitis but away from home they still struggle. Still it should be enough for them to avoid the relegation fight this season.

Racing Santander defender Ezequiel Garay has revealed that he's being tracked by Manchester United.

The 20-year-old Argentinian has been in impressive form this season and is thought to have attracted the eye of United chief scout Martin Ferguson.

And now Garay admits he's excited about interest from the Premiership leaders.

"It's a pleasure that a club as big as Manchester [United] are interested in me, but at the moment there has been no official contact," he told Spanish daily As.

"I haven't yet had the chance to speak with my representative about it. The club hasn't spoken to me about the matter either, so we shouldn't go shouting about it from the rooftops."

"At the moment all I'm thinking about is Racing, and my only aim is to continue working in the way I am now, with my thoughts on the upcoming game against Nastic. The important thing is to make sure those three points stay in Santander."

Chelsea and Barcelona are also believed to have enquired with Racing, although neither coach Miguel Angel Portugal nor anyone else at the Cantabrian club has made an official statement.

Garay is likely to cost around £13.8 million in the summer.

Would be a great for his career, but man united have 2 class cb.Still though he can learn a lot and hopefully become a firm fixture after a while.

14m is a lot though, but he has had one great season so far.

Racing Santander have completed the signing of Argentine midfielder Aldo Duscher.

28-year-old Duscher was available on a free transfer after leaving Deportivo La Coruna.

He had talks with a number of clubs including Newcastle, but he has now sealed a move to Racing.

"This is the best league in the world," said Duscher.

"Racing is aiming to have a good team and they have good ambitions."

Newcastle were unhappy with his fitness so didn't sign him. Duscher would have left last season but Depor wanted £5m or so to sell him and no one would pay.

Racing In No Hurry To Sell Zigic

Racing Santander have stated that they are prepared to listen to offers for Nikola Zigic, but have no need to sell the highly-rated striker.

Manchester City and Valencia ahve both registered their interest in the lofty goalscorer and the Cantabrian outfit understand his desire to progress in his career.

While Zigic continues to recover from a knock, Racing president, Francisco Pernía, has said that if no concrete bids are received then the player will stay put.

"There is no necessity to sell, but there is a chance," Pernía explained.

"Niko wants to step up and the club wants what is best for him.

"If we reach an agreement with another club then Niko will leave the team because of the accord.

"At the moment, however, he is a Racing player and, if nothing happens then he will continuing to play here next season."

Reflecting on Racing's slow rebuilding programme this summer, the Racing supremo has asked fans to remain patient.

Only Aldo Duscher, Jorge López and Jordi López have arrived to bolster the club's squad, but Pernía says that more will arrive in good time.

"There should be any haste, because we want good players at a fair price," he concluded.

Valencia have apparently beaten Man City to Niko Zigic for a whopping €15m(£10m)

£10m can buy them a good replacement and strengthen the rest of the team.

Levante will really stuggle this season. They have brought in 13 players and they won’t be able to play as a team imo. They were already humiliated 3-0 by mallorca in the opening game of the season and could only get a 0-0 draw against fellow newly promoted side murcia.

Racing have had a great start to the season imo. With a 1-1 draw against zaragoza and keeping the star studded Barcelona side to a goalless draw. Unlike the opposition they have brought in few players in Smolarek/Duscher/Tchite. They have promoted a few youngsters this season, who have been part of the spain u19 squad and it is not surprising, racing have a pretty good academy.

I expect a tight game, with racing just edging it.

Didn't see this game either, only saw highlights. From what i saw levante had a lot of chances, but weren't able to convert them .

Valladolid were have a very good game, but weren’t able to convert their chances.

Victor not headering the ball into the goal from point blank range.Kome had a very good chance, after poor defending by pinillos who passed the ball right to kome.

Racing though had some clear cut chances as well.Colsa missed a great chance, one on one with lopez alberto, but he wasn’t able to slot the ball into the goal.

In the end valladolid paid for their missed chances. Racing caught them on the break and smolarek scored an easy goal. Then tchite secured the win for racing with a good header in the 88th minute.

Valladolid are in big trouble now imo. There best player joseba llorente is suspended for the next game against fellow relegation strugglers atheltic bilbao.
