Default Getafe add Ustari

Quote:
Getafe have completed the signing of Argentina international goalkeeper Oscar Ustari from Independiente.

Ustari will join the Spanish club for a fee reported to be in the region of €6million (£4million).

The 21-year-old shot-stopper has agreed a six-year deal and joins fellow Argentina keeper Roberto Abbondanzieri at Getafe.

Ustari's arrival is likely to signal the end of Luis Garcia's time at the Alfonso Perez.

Abbondanzieri is currently the club's number one and Ustari will look to challenge the 34-year-old for his starting role.

Boca Juniors defender Daniel Diaz is also set to sign for Getafe for €4million (£2.7million), according to his agent Gerardo Nolan.

"We have reached a formal agreement with Getafe, there are only a few things to be resolved," Nolan told South American media.

Diaz had been a target for Sevilla and Betis but will link up with Getafe after the Copa America.

Meanwhile, Auxerre have warned interested clubs that they will not sell Thomas Kahlenberg on the cheap.

Kahlenberg has been linked with a move to Getafe but the French club are keen to hold onto the Denmark international.

"Yes, we could reject an offer of €10million (£6.7million)," club spokesman Baptiste Malherbe told BT.

Güiza confirma su fichaje por el Mallorca - Marca.com

Getafe sell Dani Guiza for 5m Euros to Mallorca, which will be a problem as he's a 12 goal a season striker that they'll need to replace.

Getafe have been drawn into group G of the uefa cup.

Group G
Quote:
Anderlecht (Bel)
Tottenham (Eng)
Getafe (Spa)
Hapoel Tel Aviv (Isr)
Aalborg (Den)

Tough group for getafe. The side of last year, would've done well, but they are low on confidence and currently sitting second from bottom in la liga. They will need to put in some great performances if they want to progress. Though i think they should concentrate on the league.

Default Uefa cup MD1 : Spurs v Getafe

1-2
_______________________Defoe(19)____________Granero(21)
____________________________________________Braulio(70)

Amazing win for getafe. Despite all of tottenhams problems(jol leaving etc) it is still one heck of an accomplishment, especially keeping spurs at bay.

The 2 madrid boys, granero and de la red had a good game both looked calm on the ball and initiated most of getafes counter attacks.Cata diaz was also very impressive. He was decent at boca juniors, but was always susceptible to the occasional lapse of concentration.

All in all a good trip for a getafe side that have had a very poor run so far in the league this season. Hopefully this will give them the confidence to put in the same great performances as last season.

HT: Getafe 0 - 2 Hapoel Tel - Aviv
Waleed Badeer(5') and Dos Santos (32') scored the two goals for the team who are last in the israeli league with one win in 11 matches, and come to this match 4 days after their coach quit and they have their former captain as manager, and they went to this match just for having fun in madrid and non of the TV channels in israel is showing this match!

I think the spanish federation has to relegate getafe to 'la trecera' if it goes on like that!!

btw the fans from tel aviv threw 3 fire crackers before the match, outside the alfonso perez stadium.

I can't beleive badeer scored! just heard he scored after stopping the ball on the chest!

EDIT: fuh... ustari is on goal not pato.

UEFA Cup Group Stage MD4: Getafe 2 | 1 Anderlecht

Getafe end a very successful group stage, finishing 1st in a group that has tottenham, anderlecht, hapoel-tel-aviv and elburg. and will face one of the teams that will end in 3rd place in the other groups which is supposed to be a very easy encounter (unless its bolton).
