Derby were woeful. All 6 goals were down to absolute basic defensive errors. Shocking performance.

Derby's Fagan gets four-match ban
Quote:
Derby County's Craig Fagan has been hit with a four-match suspension by the Football Association for stamping on Liverpool's Alvaro Arbeloa on Saturday.
Striker Fagan, 24, was found guilty of misconduct by an FA regulatory commission, after denying the charge.
"The commission imposed the automatic three-match ban, plus an additional match as they considered the denial to be frivolous," said an FA statement.
Fagan can appeal against the additional one-game ban, but not the three games.
The FA statement added: "Referee Alan Wiley confirmed that he did not see the incident, and that had he done so he would have sent Fagan off."
Fagan will miss games against Newcastle (home), Arsenal (away), Bolton (home) and Reading (away).

Billy Davies is looking forward to the prospect of having Giles Barnes back in his Derby side. The 19-year-old midfielder has been sidelined at the start of the season with a foot injury picked up in the play-off final. Barnes is back in full training but is still not fully fit and will therefore not feature against Newcastle on Monday. Davies expects the England Under 19 star to make his first Premier League appearance in around two weeks' time.

Derby County are the subject of fresh investment interest. The News of the World says the Rams are the latest target for foreign investment, with a US consortium set to bid £55m for a 40% stake.

Derby have announced that Trevor Birch has ceased to be employed as the club's chief executive. The Rams appointed Birch in June 2007 when he replaced Mike Horton's role of managing director. Birch has also had spells as chief executive at Chelsea, where he helped oversee current owner Roman Abramovich's takeover, and Leeds. It was recently reported Birch suffered a breakdown in his relationship with manager Billy Davies, but the Rams boss denied there was any problem between them.

Paul Jewell is ready to spend £2m on Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts. National newspaper reports suggest that frustrated striker is top of County's list as Jewell aims to re-build his squad following an awful season in the top flight.

Paul Jewell has started the rebuilding of his squad by signing Australia international Ruben Zadkovich. The 21-year-old has signed a two-year contract after last month deciding to leave Sydney FC at the end of his deal with the club to become a free agent. Zadkovich, who can play in central midfield or right-back, joins another Aussie at Derby in Mile Sterjovski following his arrival at Pride Park in January.

Robbie Savage is prepared to play in the Championship with Derby County next season.
Savage said: "We've been relegated but I want to stay and get Derby promoted."
Savage ain't no longer good enough to play in the Premiership anyway.

Premier League rules meant the Rams had to play in the Premier Reserve League this term but boss Paul Jewell says that will change in the Championship.
"It's nothing to do with cost, I think it's better suited for the football club," Jewell told BBC Radio Derby.
"And a lot of clubs have the same idea because trying to get a reserve game off when it's not convenient is harder than getting blood out of a stone."
Jewell added: "You end up sending a team that is not equipped.
"You look at the reserves that have played most of the season and it's basically been a youth team because the games have fallen when it hasn't been convenient.
"What I want to do next season is play games behind closed doors or at our convenience rather than just fulfilling fixtures."
