Fulham eyeing Tottenham striker Mido
Quote:
Fulham may step into the battle for Tottenham striker Mido.
The Egypt international's personal demands have proved too rich for Birmingham City and a move to St Andrews appears to have fallen through.
The striker, signed from Roma, was back at Spurs training yesterday and it is believed he would prefer to stay in London, says The Mirror.
But Fulham are the only other side in the capital to have shown interest.

Fulham are set to sign Bouazza for £4.2m
I'm gutted. He's better than Lee Cook.

Fulham return on for Portsmouth's Davis
Quote:
Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis is wanted by Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez.
Midfielder Davis quit for Tottenham and is now at Portsmouth but has never recovered his form from his Craven Cottage days.
Sanchez fancies him as a possible replacement for Michael Brown, who is considering a move to Wigan.

Fulham are ready to splash out on Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts. New boss Lawrie Sanchez has already spent over £20m since taking charge at Craven Cottage. But Northern Ireland's former manager feels he needs more strikers and has targeted Roberts.

Leijer secures dream move
Melbourne Victory defender Adrian Leijer completed a dream transfer to English Premier League side Fulham overnight.
The 21 year old from Jan Juc has signed a three year contract after transfer negotiations between Melbourne Victory and Fulham were concluded overnight.
Speaking from Olympic Park Stadium prior to tonight’s match against Wellington Phoenix, Leijer revealed his delight at securing a place among football’s elite.
“It’s just a fantastic opportunity for me to join a club in the English Premier League,” Leijer said. “Now that I’ve got this opportunity, all I can do is continue to work as hard as I can to make sure I make the most of it.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing in the Hyundai A-League. My time with Melbourne Victory has helped me develop as a player and has now provided me with this outstanding opportunity.
“I’d like to thank Ernie Merrick and everyone associated with Melbourne Victory. The club has been good to me, not only over the last two years, but also the last couple of weeks with the way they helped make this deal happen.”
Coach Ernie Merrick was full of praise for his young charge, highlighting not just his ability as a player, but his maturity as an individual.
“You don’t often get a better person than Adrian Leijer,” Merrick said. “He’s an outstanding athlete, and also a very mature young man. This is a wonderful opportunity for him to develop his career at the highest level. It really is a great story, and well deserved, too.
“Fulham’s interest in Adrian is also a big affirmation of our junior development pathways here in Victoria. Adrian was identified by the current VIS coach Ian Greener, who recommended him to me when I held that position. He was a standout in the junior state championships, and has gone on to represent Australia at under 17, under 20 and under 23 level, and is now knocking on the door of the Qantas Socceroos.”
Victory CEO Geoff Miles paid tribute to one of the club’s favourite sons.
“Adrian has been a terrific player for Melbourne Victory, and has also represented Australia with distinction at international level,” Miles said. “He’s a true ambassador both on and off the pitch and this move is a great acknowledgement for his hard work and talent as a footballer. We wish him every success with this move to Fulham Football Club.

Cottagers land Bouazza
Quote:
Fulham have confirmed the signing of Hameur Bouazza from Watford.
Skysports.com brought you the news first of Fulham's bid for the Algerian - who has now penned a four-year deal at Craven Cottage.
"I'm really pleased to have joined Fulham," Bouazza told the club's website.
"It's been a long wait and I'm just happy to be here today and I'm looking forward to getting out on the training pitch this afternoon.
Ready for debut
"I've got a few days training to settle in and hopefully I'll be involved on Sunday against Arsenal.
"It's going to be a big game and we've got to make sure we do our jobs out on the pitch and make a good start to the season."
Sanchez delight
Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez revealed how happy he was to have landed Bouazza.
"Hameur is an exciting young player with a great deal of potential," he added.
"His attributes as a player fit in with my philosophy to play attacking, exciting football next season.
"He will provide further pace and attacking guile to our frontline and I'm delighted that he has signed for the club.
"We are only a few days away from our first game of the season at the Emirates and I am confident that we have a group of players that will do well in the Premiership this season."
