Maybe Richardson is thinking that with Keane in charge Sunderland are going places.

The idea of selling Richardson and actually making £5.5m by doing so is brilliant.

If Roy Keane succeed with Sunderland in the Premiership then he won't be at Sunderland for long.

Hearts keeper Gordon open to Sunderland move

Quote:
Hearts captain Craig Gordon admits he is interested in joining Sunderland.

He told Hearts World: "That bid hasn't been accepted. If it had, I'd have to give it serious consideration.

"As yet there's not been a bid accepted from anybody, so I've got nothing to think about other than getting ready for the start of the season with Hearts and playing to the best of my ability."

Default Black Cats move for Etuhu

Quote:
Skysports.com understands Sunderland are closing in on the signing of Dickson Etuhu from Norwich.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane has moved for Etuhu as he looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of life back in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old is believed to have agreed a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light after holding talks with the club.

Etuhu impressed last season for Norwich, scoring seven goals in 48 appearances, and his performances caught the attention of Keane.

Norwich were keen to keep hold of the powerful midfielder, but have reluctantly accepted Sunderland's offer for Etuhu.

If Sunderland tie up a move for Etuhu he will become Keane's fifth new signing of the summer.
Keane do many strange signings.

Etuhu agrees Black Cats move

Quote:
Skysports.com understands Dickson Etuhu has agreed his move to Sunderland from Norwich.

As revealed by skysports.com Sunderland made a move for the powerful midfielder by activating a buy-out clause in Etuhu's contract.

Sunderland have moved quickly to tie up a move for the former Preston man with Etuhu putting pen-to-paper on a four-year contract after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane is a big admirer of the all-action midfielder having been impressed by him during Sunderland's meetings with Norwich last season.

Norwich claim Etuhu turned down a new deal at Carrow Road to make the move to Sunderland

Norwich chief executive Neil Doncaster told the club's official website: "We received an offer from Sunderland for Dickson on Saturday evening which meets a £1.5million buy-out clause in his contract.

"We are very disappointed to lose Dickson obviously, but the simple facts are Dickson turned down the offer of a new, more lucrative contract from Norwich City which was already on the table, in favour of Sunderland's offer - and we are therefore forced to accept their offer under the terms of his contract."

Etuhu is set to become Sunderland's fifth signing of the summer as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Keane ends Gordon interest

Quote:
Roy Keane claims he has ended his interest in signing Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

Sunderland have already seen a £5million offer knocked back by Hearts, but reports have claimed that a £9million bid is in the offing.

Gordon's agent is unaware of any increased offer for the Scotland international, who has been valued in the £10million category.

Though Keane has admitted he would be prepared to spend that sum on a player, he says he is no longer looking to sign Gordon.

"No," Keane told reporters after the friendly win at Darlington when asked if he would continue his interest in the keeper.

"Anyway, we already have two very good goalkeepers at the club, so it is not an issue.

"I will now be looking to strengthen other areas in the squad."

The Sunderland manager also confirmed he is still hoping to add at least two more players to his squad after making five new signings to date.

Keane told Sky Sports News: "We're working hard. As I said the other day we're hoping to have, possibly by next week, another two or three players in.

"If we can get those three players in I will be more than happy, but we're working hard and I'm quite happy with the players I've got."

I think Sunderland could stay up and do ok next season.

Richardson was never going to get a look in really this season.

He's not good enough for Man Utd.

It's the same with every other club that has come in for them. Hearts will not budge.

I am very impressed with Keano's work at Sunderland. When he took over, Sunderland were fighting relegation, and now they are in the Prem. That is fantastic. Did he get nominated for manager of the season by any chance?
