I am quite stoked that Pisa are back In Serie B, now when I am there next year I can go watch a few games, unfortunetaly there will be no Juve, Napoli and Genoa in Serie B. Oh well, only results in a better Serie A

Grosseto 2-0 Pisa

Pisa’s run of six consecutive victories – and their time at the top of the Serie B table – ground to a halt with this surprise derby defeat. The revelations were unusually sluggish and rarely threatened Bressan’s goalmouth. Grosseto get the bragging rights in Tuscany this weekend with a Carparelli penalty for Raimondi’s tackle on Dall’Acqua and a splendid long-range free kick. It was a tense affair, as Lazzari and Trevisan saw red for double bookable offences, while Raimondi was dismissed after he struck a ballboy.

Scorers: Carparelli pen 30 (G), Dall’Acqua 59 (G)

Sent off: Lazzari 65 (G), Raimondi 73 (P), Trevisan 93 (P)

Grosseto: Bressan; Innocenti, Mignani, Terra; Abruzzese (Virga 41), Garofalo, Valeri, Moro; Lazzari; Carparelli (Carboni 72), Dall`Acqua (Paulinho 83)

Pisa: Morello; Zavagno (Rajczi 79), Trevisan, Raimondi, Zappetti; Braiati, Genevier; D`Anna (Carrozza 62), Castillo, Cerci; Kutuzov (Ciotola 62)

Attendance: 6,377

Cerci will wait for Roma Friday 23 November, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Azzurrini striker Alessio Cerci is hoping that Roma call him back from his loan spell at Pisa, but he remains focused on Serie B until June.

Cerci has struck eight times for Tuscan minnows Pisa and played a crucial role in the newly promoted side’s dream start to the Cadetti campaign.

His dazzling performances in the second tier earned him a start for Italy’s Under-21’s against the Faroe Islands, but he isn’t expecting to return to Rome in January.

“I’m happy with how I’m doing,” he told Radio Incontro.

“It’s still too early to give a decision on next year – at the end of the season we will see what’s best for me and for Roma, but for now I’m just thinking about Pisa.

“I have to thank Pisa and boss Giampiero Ventura who gave me the chance to play and earn my place in the national side.

“Roma also deserve credit and it’s the right place to grow and show my abilities.

“The belief of the club and the Coach was crucial. They have believed in me from the off and I want to repay them with goals.

“I’m proud to be considered a young Italian prospect, but I know that I have to keep my feet on the ground.”
