Napoli president confirms Reja for next season
tribalfooball.com - March 23, 2007
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says coach Edy Reja will be in charge next season - whether they win promotion or not.
"He's a club man, a nice man, he has improved the team and will be in charge when we return to Serie A," said the president.
"I am planning to take Napoli to the USA and I will looking to Reja to trial several American prospects while we're over there."

Hey, that's great news on three counts. First, I'm glad Aurelio has given a vote of confidence to Reja. Second, I'm happy to know that Napoli will be coming to the U.S. (hopefully someplace within reasonable travel distance). And third, I'm glad they'll be looking to the U.S. for prospects. Excellent!

They're planning for the future, which is good.
Hopefully you'll be able to go and see them.

Napoli’s Stadio San Paolo will reopen to all spectators on Saturday, after it was green-lighted by the commission for security.
Supporters were banned from the arena in February after the introduction of the new anti-hooligan measures following the riots in Catania when a policeman was killed after the derby with Palermo.
The venues that did not comply with the new safety regulations were not allowed to host spectators in the stands until the work needed to renovate them was completed.
The San Paolo will reopen to both season and daily ticket holders over the weekend, although the commission for stadium security has given the green light after Wednesday’s survey.
However, they have included the condition that the capacity be decreased to 53,740 spectators and that no tickets are sold to away supporters until further notice.
New turnstiles have been installed in the past few months to bring the arena up to the new security standards, but Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed that five more would be installed during the night, bringing the total to 40.

That's excellent news!
I hate to see the fans barred from any stadium, but especially Stadio San Paolo. Hopefully they can continue to make necessary adjustments and be back to full capacity for next season in (hopefully) Serie A. It would be great to see 70,000 maniacs greet Roma, Milan, etc., next year. 8)

Five more turnstiles... I feel so much safer now!
But seriously, no matter what kind of turnstile BS they had to go through to get the San Paolo back open, I'm just glad it's open again. Here's hoping it's back to being open at full capacity (and accepting away fans) soon.

I'm disappointed that Napoli didn't get a victory, but a draw is better than a loss. Still, a couple of other clubs improved their position and even though Napoli has an extra game, it's against Juve. Hopefully things will turn back around quickly.

Well, thanks to a victory over Frosinone and a bit of help from Juventus, Napoli has edged back into second place, just a single point ahead of Genoa and also one ahead in goal differential. It's going to be tight! Genoa has Treviso on Friday and Napoli hosts Cesena on Saturday.

You're away to Genoa on the final day of the season, what a game that could be.

Yeah, I've had a feeling for some time that it might come down to that. It sure would be nice if Napoli could go in with a bit of a lead.
