Yes. I suppose I was getting a bit spoiled by how well the season has gone thus far (only two losses coming into today!), so it was bound to happen. I certainly wasn't expecting it at the hands (feet?) of Crotone. But yes, I'm confident that the guys will get right back on track.
And thanks for the welcome, both here and in the new signings section!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Serie A next year. Inter and Roma will still be strong. You know that Milan will bring in a few top players and be right up there fighting for the Scudetto. Juve will have a chance to replenish its squad for Serie A (and from what I've been reading has a wad of cash to do so). And I'm really confident that if Napoli doesn't blow this opportunity for promotion they can become competitive quickly with the great fan base and a bit of DeLaurentis money. I'm very excited about the prospects.

Napoli will have a strong squad for sure. Because of your reputation you can attract quality players even as a newly promoted team to Serie A.
It would be nice to say that we've got the 'seven sisters' all back in Serie A but that's a little uncertain with Parma's current league position.....

Yeah, that would be just like old times.
Hopefully Parma can get things turned around and join the fray. It would be nice to erase any doubt about which league is the best in the world.

Thanks MUFC! And congrats on your club's great season. It's beginning to look like you'll hold off Chelsea.
I was just thinking about what Joel said about Napoli attracting players. It reminded me of something I read a couple of months ago. Maybe you guys saw it. Apparently Napoli fans have hatched a scheme to bring Ronaldinho to the club next year! The plan is to work out a deal with him in advance, bet 2 million euros at 67-1 that he will go to Napoli, then use the 134 million euros to pay his escape clause!

Just for the sake of conversation, the latest Napoli transfer rumor is that the club plans to offer a deal to Nicola Ventola, who is out of contract with Atalanta this summer.
Also, apparently Mauro Esposito badly wants a move to Napoli from Cagliari. Fabio Cannavaro is said to have been in contact with Marino about coming home to finish his career in Napoli. And my own personal favorite is that Napoli has purchased Udinese's half of Fabio Quagliarella (who is from the area) and plans to pry him away from Sampdoria.
Make what you want of all that!

Yeah, I heard about the Ventola rumour, it seems there are one or two other teams interested as well.
Cannavaro will definitely end his career with Napoli, it's just a question of when (I still think he'll see out his Real Madrid contract).
Quagliarella is a tough one as it's been reported that the two Milan clubs are looking at him.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Quagliarella will be an especially interesting proposition. If it is true that Napoli has agreed to buy Udinese's half of his contract, that at least gives the club some say in the matter. But despite the DeLaurentis money behind the club now, it would be very difficult to compete with the Milan clubs considering all the resources at their disposal. I think I even saw something linking him with Manchester United.
Hard to say about Cannavaro. He may very well serve out his deal, but I've seen an awful lot about his supposed desire to return to Italy, so I'm hopeful.
But, of course, most of this depends on Napoli earning promotion, which hasn't happened yet!

You don't have to worry about Cannavaro, he'll return no matter what league you're in. I just think he wants another crack or two at the CL before he leaves Madrid, that's why he joined the club in the first place in my opinion.

Sampdoria's Quagliarella admits Napoli ambition
tribalfooball.com - March 21, 2007
Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella admits he has ambitions to play for hometown club Napoli.
The Italy prospect said: "My contract is half owned by Samp and half by Udinese. It will be they who decide.
"I want to remain in Genoa for another year or two, and then it would appeal to me to play in Naples."
