Geromel [FC Köln]
Köln have signed Guimarães CB, Geromel. He is brazilian and 25 years old I think. The transfer is worth 5 million €.
The media rates him quite highly and he was statistically one of the best CB's in the league last season, but I find him to be very overrated. He is clumsy on the ball, makes poor clearances far too often and has too many lapses in concentration. Kind of reminds me of Metzelder.

Try this out. When she is about to say yes or no, pull back and say, "nah, I change my mind" and sort of walk away.
See what she does then. You will have basically turned the tables on her. Tried this a few times, always works.

I've never heard about him before, to be honest. I've just read that Benfica was also interested in him. I guess Koln have made a good transfer.
Transfermarkt.de just reported about the transfer, so now it is official. He has signed a four year contract.
I checked his page, he is 22 years old, 1.90 metres tall. Brazilian, also has an Italian passport.

I don't rate him at all much tbh, Sereno (his CB partner at Guimaraes) is so much better. But he never gets any recognition, it's like with Terry and Carvalho. Everyone knows that Carvalho is better and does all the dirty work, but it's Terry who always gets credit for everything.

The final piece of the jigsaw?
Quote:
When 1. FC Köln lost their final match of the season 3-0 at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, the club's promotion to the Bundesliga was already confirmed.
The future of Christoph Daum wasn't, however, despite a contract until 2010.
Cologne's 54-year-old head coach had demanded improvements to make the club competitive enough for the Bundesliga.
The signing of central defender Pedro Geromel could be the final piece of the jigsaw for Cologne.
Four-year deal
22-year-old Geromel has made the move from Portuguese top-flight club Vitoria Guimaraes, penning a four-year deal.
"He is 1.90m tall, very good in the air and still quick", sporting director Michael Meier declared. The Brazilian is also good in one-on-one duels and in opening the play from the back.
Sensational season
Geromel helped promoted Guimaraes to a sensational third place with just 31 goals conceded, and the fans even voted him the league's best player.
The defender had started his career with Brazilian club Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras in 2002 before transferring to Desportivo de Chaves one year later.
In 2005 he joined Guimaraes, and he played the full 90 minutes in 29 out of 30 games last season.
Bundesliga instead of Southern Europe
Geromel had options to join clubs in Italy or Spain, but he chose the Bundesliga and 1. FC Köln. "I have carefully considered all offers and came to the conclusion that a move to Cologne and the Bundesliga would be best for me", he said.
The move also suits Cologne, and hopefully it will help to make Cologne competitive enough for the Bundesliga.
