Another achilles operation for Kennedy
Joshua Kennedy´s injury nightmare continues. After rupturing his Achilles tendon the Nuremberg player again has to undergo treatment.
"Club”-striker Joshua Kennedy again has to undergo treatment on his Achilles. This time the 24-year old will have a cyst removed.
Last summer the Australian international had ruptured his right Achilles tendon in training without involvement of another player.
Operation next week
Kennedy, who joined Nuremberg from Dynamo Dresden, had started training with the Franconians late on July 13th, 2006 because of his country´s participation in last year´s World Cup.
Kennedy will now have to undergo an operation at Dr. Ludwig Seebauer in Munich, after they detected a cyst in his right foot.
Return dependant on healing process
Seebauer had already operated Kennedy on his ruptured tendon
Kennedy´s return to training with coach Hans Meyer´s team depends on the healing process after the operation.

1. FC Nürnberg's Jan Kristiansen will be able to play in Saturday's tough away match against FSV Mainz 05.
However, the fifth-placed club still has a lengthy list of prominent absentees.
Coach Hans Meyer will have to make do wothout Marek Mintal, Marco Engelhardt, Glauber, Joshua Kennedy, Petar Jelic, Leon Benko, Dean Heffernan and Thomas Paulus, who are all either injured or still not up to match fitness..
Players need to watch out!
To make things even more difficult for the Franconians, Javier Pinola, Andreas Wolf and Robert Vittek all have to be on their best behaviour. All are just one yellow card away from an automatic suspension.

1.FC Nürnberg have confirmed that striker Markus Schroth suffered a broken nose following a clash of heads in Saturday's 2-1 defeat in Mainz.
Team doctor Jochen Gruber's initial analysis after the game was confirmed following tests in Nuremberg on Sunday morning.
Schroth, who has scored six times this season, has been kitted out with a nose-splint. The club say it is still too early to decide whether the experienced forward will be able to take part in Tuesday evening's cup quarter-final against Hannover 96.

1. FC Nürnberg 4-2 Hannover 96 AET and penalties
Nuremberg reached the semi-final stage for the first time since 1982 after a real thriller.
Both teams failed to find the back of the net during 120 minutes, and the match had to be decided in a penalty shoot-out.
FCN head coach Hans Meyer then brought on second choice keeper Daniel Klewer for Raphael Schäfer.
Klewer had kept Nuremberg in the DFB Cup with four penalty saves against Unterhaching in the previous round, and he performed heroics once again with two decisive saves in the shoot-out.

FC Nurnberg have confirmed that Jaromir Blazek will be their number one target in the summer.
Coach Hans Meyer will need to find a replacement for goalkeeper Raphael Schafer, who has pledged his future to Bundesliga rivals VFB Stuttgart.
Current number two Daniel Klewer had vowed that he was the right man to replace Schafer at Franken Stadion.
However, Sparta Prague keeper Blazek has emerged as favourite to fill the void next season.
"There are a lot of points speaking in his favour," director of sport Martin Bader revealed.
Nurnberg are expected to open talks with the 34-year-old in the coming weeks.

Injury problems for Nurnberg
(Markus Schroth)
FCN midfielder Jaouhar Mnari will undergo a knee operation on Thursday.
"If everything goes well, he could be back in training in a week", head coach Hans Meyer said.
Schroth doubtful
Markus Schroth is doubtful for Saturday's match in Bielefeld after breaking his nose in Mainz.
At the moment specialists try to manufacture a fitting mask for the striker.

New Nurnberg deal for Wolf
Andreas Wolf has signed a new contract with high-flying FC Nurnberg, keeping him at the club until 2011.
The 24-year-old emerged from Nurnberg's youth academy and has established himself as one of the Bundesliga's most reliable defenders.
Nurnberg have rewarded Wolf with a new four-year contract at the Franken Stadion.
"I have always said how happy I feel here at Nurnberg and I want to play my part in the club's promising development," Wolf said after putting pen-to-paper on his new deal.
Sport director Matin Bader also expressed his delight at the deal.
Bader added: "Andreas' constant top performances have shown that he is one of our most important players.
"This new contract is an important piece in our future puzzle."
Meanwhile, bad news for Nurnberg is that Tunisian midfielder Jawhar Mnari needs to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee and will miss this weekend's game at Arminia Bielefeld.
"If everything goes well he might be able to start training again in a week's time," Nurnberg coach Hans Meyer said.

Arminia Bielefeld 3 - 2 Nurnberg (Kucera 45', Bohme (pen) 50', 86' ; Banovic 16', Engelhardt 83')
And, who expected this? Nurnberg gets defeated from Bielefeld. Surprising.

Nurenberg are also one of Bayern's main rivals (historical reasons), so I'm glad they lost
