Hannover 2-2 Bielefeld
Hannover grabbed a point from this game thanks largely to a much improved second half performance against relegation threatened Arminia Bielefeld.
The visitors were by far the better side in the first half, but missed a number of chances to in further ahead.
The opening fifteen minutes saw two goals with Bruggink equalising on 16 minutes after Mijatovic had given the visitors the lead two minutes earlier.
Christian Eigler headed Michael Frontzeck’s side back into the lead on 38 minutes from a Wichniarek cross. Hannover came back in the second period and grabbed the all-important equaliser through Jiri Stajner eleven minutes after the restart.

Bundesliga, Matchday 25 | PREVIEW
Arminia Bielefeld – Werder Bremen
The round 25 action concludes with relegation threatened Arminia Bielefeld welcoming Werder Bremen to the Schüco Arena. Both sides need the points for wholly different reasons.
Bielefeld still find themselves in the midst of crisis with only two points from their last seven league matches. Relegation is a stark possibility for a club that seems to be in freefall. A surprise and unexpected win against Werder could just spark the shoots of recovery though.
The return game at the Weser Stadion earlier in the season will not however fill them with hope as they crashed to a 8-1 defeat.
Werder have dropped down to fourth in the table and have lost their mantle as the closet challengers to Bayern Munich. Three defeats in their last four Bundesliga games, combined with their exit from the Uefa Cup means that Thomas Schaaf’s side have hit a blip at just the wrong stage in the season.
Bielefeld will be praying this blip continues, but it is unlikely their prayers will be answered.

Arminia Bielefeld 1-1 Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen ended their losing streak but were unable to take all three points against Bielefeld.
Bielefeld scored with their first attack of the game. An Eigler pass found Wichniarek, who fired in a shot from a tight angle. Wiese saved but was only able to parry out to Oliver Kirch, who stabbed home to make it 1-0.
The home side held onto their lead until the 70th minute when Werder were awarded a penalty after Gabriel felled Ivan Klasnic. Diego stepped up to score from the spot even though Rowan Fernandez went the right way and got a hand to the ball.
The result sees Bielefeld out of the bottom three, but Werder remain fourth.
Arminia Bielefeld: Fernandez, Bollmann, Mijatovic, Kucera, Schuler (Gabriel 46), Kirch, Kauf, Marx, Halfar (Zuma 84), Eigler (Kamper 74), Wichniarek
Werder Bremen: Wiese, Fritz, Pasanen, Naldo, Boenisch, Frings (Ozil 80), Baumann, Hunt, Diego, Almeida (Klasnic 46), Rosenberg (Sanogo 46)

Bundesliga, Matchday 26 | PREVIEW
Hamburg – Arminia Bielefeld
Three points are the order of the day for Hamburg as they look to keep their very faint title ambitions alive, or at the very least keep hold of a Champions League qualification spot.
Recent weeks have seen the Hanseaten replace Werder Bremen in second place, but also a few blips which have handed the advantage to leaders Bayern Munich. The likes of Schalke, Leverkusen and Stuttgart are hot on their tails so any more slip-ups are likely to prove costly.
The word free-fall seems like it was designed for Bielefeld. From the lofty position of second in the opening weeks of the season, the Arminen have tumbled down the table and sit precariously one position above the relegation zone. A change of trainer hasn’t had the desired effect and Michael Frontzeck is still awaiting his first win.
An improved performance was seen last week as they held Werder Bremen to a draw, but an away win at Hamburg may be asking too much. Bielefeld will be delighted with a point and staying out of the bottom three for another week.

Quote:
Hamburg 1-1 Arminia Bielefeld
After a red card for HSV and a one goal lead, Bielefeld looked on course for a valuable win, but ten-man Hamburg fought back to rescue a point and eventually finished with ten against ten following another sending off.
All the action came in the second half at the HSH Nordbank Arena. Midfielder David Jarolim was given his marching orders after 66 minutes following a set-to with Schuler on the bye-line. Six minutes later and the HSV defence fell asleep at a corner and had to look on as Bollmann headed home.
With just eight minutes remaining Paulo Guerrero latched onto a Zidan ball before firing past Rowan Fernandez in the Bielefeld goal. Jorg Böhme was then sent-off five minutes from time for a second yellow card.

Fernandez to keep goal for Arminia
Rowen Fernandez will keep goal for Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga match against Karlsruher SC.
Mathias Hain is on his way to recover from the rib he broke in training three weeks ago, but Saturday's match comes too early for him.
Sibusiso Zuma is back in team training having recovered from stomach problems.
David Kobylik will say goodbye at the end of the season and join Cyprian top flight club Omonia Nikosia. Kobylik has played 42 Bundesliga matches for Arminia so far.

Bundesliga, Matchday 27 | PREVIEW
Arminia Bielefeld – Karlsruhe
Bielefeld have been sucked into the bottom three in recent weeks with Cottbus climbing out of the drop zone. Winless since the restart after the winter break, trainer Michael Frontzeck is also still waiting for his first three points as trainer.
The Arminen have managed draws in their last three matches, the last of which came last week against Hamburg, but they desperately need to start getting three points if they are to have any hopes of Bundesliga football next seson.
While Karlsruhe’s star has waned since the winter break they still remain a formidable opponent and wil provide Bielefeld with a tough challenge on Saturday.
They haven’t won in four games but did well to hold Schalke to a goalless draw last weekend. Having dropped down to ninth, their hopes of European qualification look all but doomed, but that doesn’t take anything away from a highly impressive season following promotion.

Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 Karlsruhe
Bielefeld secured a first win for trainer Michael Frontzeck with a late late winner against Karlsruhe. A goal two minutes into injury time from Kampantais saw the home side to a potentially vital win.
Bielefeld were deserved winners with KSC thankful to keeper Markus Miller that it stayed 0-0 for so long.
The goal arrived in the 92nd minute with Kampantais fired home a right-foot shot after Miller had parried out a shot from Eigler.

Zuma Recovers From Illness
South African international striker Sibusiso Zuma has reportedly returned to the training pitch at his German club side Armenia Bielefeld, after missing out on last weekend’s action due to a stomach illness.
Zuma was conspicuously absent in last weekend's crucial Bundesliga match for Bielefeld as they took on Hamburger SV in their continuing battle to avoid relegation this season.
According to officials of the club, the 32-year-old player resumed training midweek but failed to feature in the last-gasp win over Karlsruhe on Saturday. Still, his return is imminent, which is good news for club and country alike.
South African first choice goalkeeper, Rowen Fernandez, who suffered a broken finger that kept him out of the African Nations Cup for the Bafana Bafana, expectedly kept his place in the starting line up of the German club.
Armenia Bielefeld lay second bottom in the league standings with 22 points from 26 matches prior to yesterday's win, which saw them move up to 15th of 18.

Fernandez replaces Hain as Bielefeld's number one
Arminia Bielefeld coach Michael Frontzek will continue to play Rowen Fernandez in goal, and has praised stand-by goalie Dirk Heinen.
Although long-time number one Matthias Hain has fully recovered from broken ribs, Frontzel has committed himself to seeding 30 year-old South African Fernandez.
With him between the posts, Arminia Bielefeld have chalked up a four game unbeaten streak, in which Fernandez has put in some excellent displays.
Frontzek also went out of his way to praise emergency goalkeeper Dirk Heinen, who came out of retirement to help out Arminia when a shortage of 'keepers led to a difficult time for the club. "What he did wasn't expected or self-explanatory", commented Frontzek.
37 year-old Heinen, a former favourite with Stuttgart and Frankfurt, made one appearance for the club and helped the strugglers to a point against Hannover 96. Heinen has now returned to his farm in Ireland.

Bundesliga, Matchday 28 | PREVIEW
Energie Cottbus – Arminia Bielefeld
Both Cottbus and Bielefeld will be looking for three points to take themselves further clear of the releagtion zone and secure their Bundesliga survival for another year.
The two sides currently occupy the two places above the bottom three so could easily be sucked into the drop zone should they lose a couple of games. The winners of this game will take a huge step towards the safety zone.
Michael Frontzeck grabbed his first win as Bielefeld trainer last week against Karlsruhe so will be confident, but so too will be Cottbus who have grabbed all three points in three of their last four games in the Bundesliga.

Energie Cottbus condemned Arminia to the bottom three with a 1-0 home win at the Stadion der Freundschaft.
The win was sealed thanks to a second half penalty from Ervin Skela which continues his recent fine run of scoring form. The win sees Energie move four points clear of the drop zone, but pushes Bielefeld deeper into trouble.

Bundesliga, Matchday 29 | PREVIEW
Arminia Bielefeld – Bayer Leverkusen
Time is running out for Bielefeld as they bid to secure their Bundesliga survival. They have six games to rescue their top-flight status, but have arguably the toughest run-in of all the sides at the bottom.
The arrival of Leverkusen at the Schüco-Arena provides the first of six huge matches for the ‘Arminen’, but it difficult to see where they are going to pick up the required points from with further games against Nürnberg, Bayern and Stuttgart (away) and Bochum and Dortmund (home).
Saturday’s loss to fellow strugglers Energie Cottbus saw them drop more points to their rivals at the bottom and they will face another tough task on Wednesday against Leverkusen, who are striving for a top three finish.
An impressive 3-0 home win over Stuttgart on Sunday will have given the Werkself a confidence boost after their disappointing Uefa Cup exit at the hands of Zenit St Petersburg.

Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen
Arminia Bielefeld climbed out of the bottom three with a narrow 1-0 win over a disappointing Bayer Leverkusen, who have lost ground in the race for the European places.
The struggling home side took the lead on 51 minutes with Andre Mijatovic getting his name on the score sheet. Marx fired a free kick into the area and Mijatovic was the one who rose the highest to head past Rene Adler.
The single goal proved enough in the end to seal a potentially vital three points for the ‘Arminen’.
