Energie Cottbus player Mariusz Kukielka has suffered a deep chap in the match at FSV Mainz 05.
The injury is dangerously close to the hamstring and was closed by team doctor Dr. Hartmut Thamke in the dressing room.
Skipper already ruled out
Kukielka is rated doubtful for Sunday's match in Nuremberg.
Energie are already without captain Kevin McKenna (knee injury).

Rost signs new Cottbus deal
Energie Cottbus midfielder Timo Rost has pledged his future to the club by signing a new two-year contract extension.
Rost's current contract was not due to expire until June 2008, but the 28-year-old has now put pen-to-paper on a deal spanning until 2010.
"In Timo Rost we have managed to secure the services of one of the backbones of our team," said Energie general manager Steffen Heidrich.
"He is a player who will play an important role in our future."
Rost, who joined the East German club in 2002, said that he hoped to help the club 'establish itself in the Bundesliga in the medium term'.

FC Energie Cottbus defender Igor Mitreski may miss the upcoming crunch game against Arminia Bielefeld after undergoing medical tests on Monday.
The Macedonian left the pitch after just 22 minutes of play during FCE's 1:0 loss at 1. FC Nürnberg on Sunday.
Checked up on Sunday
Mitreski, who celebrates his 29th birthday today, was immediately checked by Energie Cottbus team doctor Andreas Koch. Initially, it was feared that he had broken his fibula.
Apparently, Mitreski has not suffered a broken bone, but does have heavy bruising. His participation in the match against Arminia is doubtful.
"Igor Mitreski is in a lot of pain", stated Dr. Koch, adding: "we will have to wait out the coming days to see if he can possibly train with team."

Bad news for FC Energie Cottbus: defender Igor Mitreski will be out for several weeks.
Mitreski suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's match at 1. FC Nürnberg.
The 30-year-old had hoped to be available for Saturday's match against Arminia Bielefeld.
McKenna back in training
After Mitreski had to be substituted after 23 minutes in Nuremberg, a bruised ankle had been suspected.
Captain Kevin McKenna is back in training, however. "We expect him to be available on Saturday", Energie head coach Petrik Sander said.

Professional contract for Energie youngster
Bundesliga side FC Energie Cottbus have rewarded promising youngster Martin Männel with a professional contract.
The keeper of the German U19 national team signed a contract until 2009, starting in the summer.
"One of Germany's most outstanding talents"
"With Martin Männel we are binding one of Germany's most outstanding goalkeeping talents to the club", sporting director Steffen Heidrich said.
"We are delighted that we can offer Bundesliga football to yet another player that came through the ranks."
Männel is already at the club since 2001.
