Energie Cottbus win their second preparatory game ahead of the season re-start.
Two weeks ahead of their opening Bundesliga encounter of 2007, against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 27 January (15:30, live on arena), Energie Cottbus beat Turkish third division side Kirikkale Spor 3-1 (2-0) at their training camp in Antalya.
China's Jiayi Shao scored twice from the spot for the men from the Lausitz, with Polish U-19 international Przemyslaw Trytko adding a third. The test game was shortened to two halves of 30 minutes each.
Fenerbahce await
Coach Petrik Sander's players will face a rather stiffer challenge on Sunday (19:00), when they take on Fenerbahce Istanbul in the final of the Antalya Cup.
Cottbus saw off Dinamo Minsk 3-1 in the semi-final. Croatian defender Mario Cvitanovic is likely to make his debut for the Bundesliga side against Fenerbahce.

Energie Cottbus have ended their last test match in Turkey with a goalless draw. Against Turkish first division side Caykur Risespor Cottbus were the better team but failed to capitalise on their superiority.
Coach Petrik Sanders men took control of the game right from the start and for a long time did not allow Rizespor any chances at all.
After the break the Turks got slightly better, but chances for either side were few and far between.
Cvitanovic impressed again
Best players for Energie were Mario Cvitanovic and Tomasz Bandrowski. Cottbus will play their last test match before the re-start of the Bundesliga coming Saturday when they host Czech outfit Slavia Prague.
Energie Cottbus played with:
Piplica (46 Tremmel) - Da Silva, Unversucht (75 Kanik), Cvitanovic, Sidney - Bandrowski, Küntzel
(61 Neumann), Schuppan - Shao - Baumgart, Trytko

Quote:
Bundesliga minnows Energie Cottbus have landed defender Mario Cvitanovic from Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.
The 31-year-old has joined Energie on a free transfer after being told that new Dinamo coach Branko Ivankovic regarded him as surplus to requirements.
"He is exactly the man we were looking for and given his experience he is going to help us a lot," declared managing director Steffen Heidrich.
Cvitanovic is the second winter signing for Cottbus following the capture of Ascoli's Albanian international Ervin Skela.
Cvitanovic has committed himself to the Stadium of Friendship until 2008.

Energie Cottbus will have to make do without Ervin Skela in their opening match of the second half of the season.
Skela will miss Energie's match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on January 27th (15:30 CET).
"We don't put him under pressure"
The 30-year-old is still getting treatment in a Hospital in Essen because of his blood results.
"We don't put him under pressure. He shall calmly prepare for his comeback", head coach Petrik Sander said.

Bundesliga side FC Energie Cottbus have beaten Czech top team Slavia Prague 1-0 in a friendly.
1,984 Zuschauern in Cottbus's Stadion der Freundschaft saw Vlad Munteanu score the decisive goal from the penalyty spot six minutes after half-time. Francis Kioyo had been brought down in the area.
Great Piplica save
Jarolim had a great chance to equalise for Slavia four minutes from time, but Energie keeper Tomislav Piplica denied him with a brilliant save.
Piplica was Energie's best player, together with new signing Mario Cvitanovic.
Cottbus take on Borussia Mönchengladbach when the Bundesliga re-starts next week.

Well, Cottbus are a strong team. I saw that when they faced Bayern.
But I never expected this result. Good win for them.

Cottbus gets another draw tonight. They managed to get a 1-1 draw against deep in crisis team Hamburger SV, who can not find the way to the wins.

Acting on information received from fans, FC Energie Cottbus is to pursue action against a spectator suspected of racial abuse.
Cottbus player Francis Kioyo was allegedly abused on repeated occasions during Saturday's home game against VfL Bochum.
Several players heard insults
Several of Kioyo's teammates also say they heard the insults. FC Energie says it will take legal steps against the suspect and issue a stadium ban. In a statement, the club said that racism has no place either in its stadium or in society as a whole and will not be tolerated.
FC Energie also thanked the fans who reported the incident for their exemplary public-spiritedness. Thanks to information received at the end of the game, the club will be able to respond to the matter swiftly and effectively.

FC Energie Cottbus are sweating over the fitness of Kevin McKenna ahead of the trip to 1. FSV Mainz 05.
The 27-year-old continues to struggle with a knee injury he suffered during the winter break.
He is unable to train with the team at the moment and rated doubtful for Saturday's match.
Piplica returns
Tomislav Piplica will resume full training on Thursday.
The Energie keeper had suffered a back injury against VfL Bochum.
