Hamburg finally won their first game.
They travelled to Leverkusen and won 2-1.
Guerrero was the hero, he scored 2 goals.

Thomas Doll happy with the win
Quote:
Hamburg coach Thomas Doll was full of praise for his team after they collected their first win of the season at Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
A second half brace by substitute Paolo Guerrero ended the Rothosen's miserable run, securing a 2-1 victory that took them clear of the Bundesliga relegation zone.
Doll had come under pressure following Hamburg's dire start to the campaign but he is now confident that the tide could have turned for his charges.
"I’m delighted for the team. We played our best game of the season by far today," Doll told the club’s official website.
"We played really well in the first half too, but we didn’t put the ball in the back of the net.
"I knew that our luck had to change sometime. The team showed fantastic morale to come from behind like that.
"I’m particularly happy for Paolo Guerrero. He had shown that he is getting back to form recently and he has now been rewarded for all his efforts.
"We will carry on working hard during training this week and are then going to take the next step forward."

#4 Bastian Reinhardt
Hamburg SV's central defender Bastian Reinhardt has suffered another injury in training, forcing him out for several more weeks.
Hamburg SV's bad luck with injuries refuses to disappear.
Defender Bastian Reinhardt tore another muscle in training and will be out for a further three to four weeks.
Without six key players
The central defender was set for a comeback against Hannover 96 on Saturday after recovering from a torn muscle.
Additionally, Head Coach Thomas Doll is still without key players Nigel de Jong (knee operation), David Jarolim (shoulder injury), Raphael Wicky (torn calf muscle), Guy Demel (thigh injury) and Mehdi Mahdavikia (suspended).

Bundesliga side Hamburg SV have made a committment for the future by sealing two long-term contract extensions with key players.
With the next league match against Hannover 96 looming on the horizon, HSV announced on Thursday that goalkeeper Sascha Kirschstein and midfielder David Jarolim had both put pen to paper to keep them with the Champions League contenders.
Kirschstein's contract will now run through until June 30th, 2011. Jarolim, who is an international for the Czech Republic, will stay with Hamburg until June 30th, 2010.

They have those players in their team, but Hamburg have been extremely unlucky with injuries.
Van der Vaart only started playing 2 weeks ago, Kompany will be out 1 more month.
Thomas Doll (the coach) migh be on his way out.

It's too early to talk about relegation, I see Hamburg having a strong 2nd round and finishing at the top 10

For Hamburg SV, the bad news don't seem to stop. Vincent Kompany is out for more than three months, Juan Pablo Sorin is also injured.
It doesn't rain, but only pours at the moment for HSV head coach Thomas Doll.
After the injury omissions of first team regulars Bastian Reinhardt, Raphael Wicky, Vincent Kompany, Guy Demel, Nigel de Jong and Collin Benjamin due to injury, Argentinian international Juan Pablo Sorin's name has now been added to that ever-lengthening list.
No opponent involved
Sorin suddenly went down clutching the back of his thigh in the 0-1 away defeat in Wolfsburg at the weekend, without any influence from an opponent.
30 year-old Sorin has been diagnosed as having torn a muscle in his thigh and will be out of first team action for up to a month.
Out until February
Vincent Kompany will be sidelined even longer. The Belgian needs an operation to his hamstring, which will be done on Thursday, November 9th.
"Vincent will be out until the end of February", fears HSV club doctor Dr. Oliver Dierk. Head coach Thomas Doll answered with a shake of the head to the news. "This is hard to take. I'm really sorry for Vince. I hope he is back on his feet again soon."
