Post match comments
VfB coach Armin Veh: "The first half was a class game of football. We created chances and scored goals. The red card for Thomas Hitzlsperger did cause us some confusion - it was never a sending off offence. We deserved to win. The hectic on the pitch is normal, We wanted to win and so did HSV. If we continue to win we'll stay amongst the top sides."
HSV coach Huub Stevens: "We lost against a class act today and never really got into the game. I have to say I prefer to concede four goals in one game than have them spread out over several matches. We will have to work hard now if we are to reach our goal."
VfB captain Fernando Meira: "It wasn't easy for us today as HSV attempted to play counter attacking football. We did well defensively and were effective. We now have an important home game against Hanover to focus on which we really want to win."
VfB goalscorer Roberto Hilbert: "It was all very quick today. We score three quick goals and there were two red cardsThe first half had everything that the fans could have wanted. We started well and got our goals - that was decisive in winning the game."
VfB midfielder Pavel Pardo: "Following two away defeats we finally won today. That was very important for the team. Now we have to beat Hanover at home if we are to confirm todays performance."

They can certainly be a pain in the neck for the other 3 teams as Stuttgart have showed that they can beat anyone.

Stuttgart 2 - 1 Hannover
2' [1 - 0] R. Hilbert
61' [1 - 1] S. Cherundolo
74' [2 - 1] D. Zuraw (o.g.)
Stuttgart struggled to win, but they secured the 3 pts. It looks like they can finish ahead of Bayern

Our most important match of the season.
A win means Champions League, a draw and/or defeat means UEFA Cup.

I have the same problem you do, no Bundesliga matches in Portugal
Bayern should win this win, come on this is the best German team we are talking about. Althought it won't be easy, we can win this if we play at our best.
I hope Magath starts Pizarro, because Stuttgart CBs are very strong in the air and Pizarro could be very useful.
My line-up would be:
..........................Kahn
Gorlitz.....v Buyten.....Lucio.....Lahm
.....................Hargreaves
......................v Bommel
.....Brazzo.............................Lell
................Pizarro...Makaay

I'm sure it will look very similar to this:
..........................Kahn
Lell.....van Buyten.....Lucio.....Lahm
......Hargreaves.........van Bommel
.....Brazzo.............................Gorlitz
................Podolski...Makaay

Stuttgart track Dane
Bundesliga side Stuttgart are believed to be tracking Danish striker Morten Nordstrand.
The FC Nordsjaelland striker has scored 13 goals in the Danish Superliga this season and has attracted the attentions of Stuttgart boss Armin Veh.
Nordstrand says he is happy at Farum Park, but admits he does one day want to play at the the highest possible level.
"I don't think about that sort of talk because I am happy to be at FC Nordsjaelland," Nordstrand told BT.
"I still have a lot to learn. I am just concentrating on my job and that is to score goals.
"But my goal is naturally to play at as high a level as possible."

Stuttgart rise to Bayern jibes
Stuttgart have hit back at jibes from Bayern Munich, just four days ahead of the two sides’ clash at the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion.
With Stuttgart currently lying third in the table, two points ahead of Bayern, the outcome of Saturday's game could go a long way to deciding who grabs the final Champions League spot.
Bayern manager Ottmar Hitzfeld has insisted that he side “would still overtake Stuttgart anyway,” sparking annoyance among the Stuttgart hierarchy.
Stuttgart manager Horst Heldt hit back, claiming: “Two of the three big clubs in the title race are taking us seriously, but Bayern evidently are not. That is their problem!”
Coach Armin Veh also accused Bayern of arrogance, commenting: “They have always had big mouths. We are looking at second place – we want to catch Bremen. What happens behind us is of no interest to me.”

Latest team news | Demichelis returns but Schweini and Ottl out
Three days ahead of the Bundesliga showdown against VfB Stuttgart with a Champions League qualifying place potentially at stake, the injury situation at Bayern has shown distinct signs of improvement. After a day and a half to rest and relax, a squad of 18 gathered on Wednesday afternoon to begin preparations for Saturday's visit to third-placed VfB.
Martin Demichelis completed the squad programme for the first time since recovering from a calf strain, and should be in contention along with Claudio Pizarro, who has shaken off the after-effects of a cold.
Jogging for Scholl
Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld will be relieved at Demichelis' return, as the Argentine offers a midfield alternative with Bastian Schweinsteiger (knee) and Andreas Ottl (torn muscle) both definitely ruled out of the weekend clash.
Mehmet Scholl is close to a full return, as the veteran midfielder has finally put a calf problem behind him and began jogging on Wednesday. However, Scholli is unlikely to feature in Saturday's match-day squad, with a return more probable when Bayern entertain Hamburg a week later.
