VfB Stuttgart will have to make do without defender and captain Fernando Meira in Saturday's Bundesliga match at VfL Wolfsburg.
The Portuguese international is still having problems after tearing a ligament in his right calf.
He may return for the DFB Cup match at SV Babelsberg on October 24th.
Osorio back in training
German international goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand and young hopeful Sami Khedira are injured as well, but they should be fit for Saturday's match.
Mexican right-back Ricardo Osorio returned to full training on Tuesday after being out with a bruised foot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meira is very important to the team, Stuttgart misses him.

Bad news for VfB Stuttgart: Head Coach Armin Veh will have to make do without a striker in the near future.
Bernd Nehrig tore a ligament in his knee and will be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Keeper Dirk Heinen, Andreas Beck, Alexander Farnerud and captain Fernando Meira are sidelined as well.

I hope Stuttgart will do a good season. I have always liked them as club and they've some good players in the squad.
Too many draws the last seasons have been the big problem for VfB.

VfB Stuttgart Sporting Director Horst Heldt speaks about the Swabians' DFB Cup win at Babelsberg.
Question: Horst Heldt, 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, 1-1 at VfL Wolfsburg, 4-2 win at SV Babelsberg in the DFB Cup. You must be satisfied?
Horst Heldt: The results show that we're on the right way basically. The new signings are well-integrated nad the young players show that they have the potential to mature into good Bundesliga players. But the Wolfsburg match especially shows that the team at just at the beginning and unable to produce top performances like against Leverkusen week in, week out. Until then, it's still a long way to go.
Question: VfB have reached the round of 16 in the DFB Cup with the win at Babelsberg. What are your aims for that competition?
Heldt: You always the competition with the aim to go asfar as possible. It's a tradition-rich competition, and a cup final day out in Berlin is an unforgettable experience for everyone. On the other hand, the DFB Cup is an opportunity to qualify for Europe. No we hope the draw will hand us a home match. The team and our fans deserve that after such a long time without a home match in the DFB Cup.

Very impressive by Stuttgart. 3-0 against Schalke is more than approved and perhaps this will give them the self-confidence to finish top four this season.

They'll fight with Nurenberg and Hertha for that 4th place, so I think they can remain 4th.
Maybe challenge Schalke for 3rd place.
The first 2 will be between Bayern and Bremen

I hope Bremen will continue this play. I think Schalke will take many points this season too, so it will be a even season in Germany.
Bayern Munchen are perhaps favourites for the title since they are Bayern.

If Magath forgets that stupid 3 striker formation, I belive Bayern will win it again.
Bremen is very strong though and Diego is being absolutely fantastic.
What a mistake by Porto to let him go...
