Russian football
As you probably know, CSKA lost the financial backing of Sibneft ($54 million over 3 years) due to the Gazprom chief exec being a Zenit St Petersburg fan. Anyways I am delighted to say Giner has managed to negotiate a new $20 million 3 year deal with a Russian bank. Althought considerably less than the Sibneft deal, it mean's the financial future of the club is secure and CSKA can now focus on footballing matters.

RUSSIA FOOTBALL
As many of you know, Russian club's are rich and are buying foreign talent. To combat this influx of foreigner's, the Russian FA have announced new rules for club's. They are that a team will only be allowed 7 non-Russian player's in their teams for the coming season, then the figure will drop to 6 for the season after and then 5 and so on.
I have mixed feeling's about this regulation. The foreigner's make the league what it is and withtout them Russian club's may struggle in Europe. Although I felt a limit had to be enforced, I think the figure is too low. Club's shou8ld be allowed at least 9 foreigner's. Having said this, it remain's to be seen if the new rule's will make the league better.

I hate these rules...Foreign players improve the league in the short term and act as a fantastic seive for naturalised talent.
I think its all rather Xenophobic and I hate the rules that UEFA have imposed recently.

Russia should look to the new Italian rules. However the Italian clubs develop a lot of foreign talent, which probably isn't true for Russia.

Zenit St Petersburg said they would sign South Korea's Dutch manager Dick Advocaat as their coach after the World Cup.
Zenit also said they had signed Dutchman Cor Pot as their assistant coach
Russian media have speculated for weeks that Advocaat will replace Czech coach Vlastimil Petrzela, who was sacked last month after a string of poor results.

Serbo-Montenegrin midfielder Goran Trobok has sealed a return to Europe after signing a one-year contract with FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. It will be the 32-year-old's second spell in Russia having made 35 appearances for FC Spartak Moskva before joining Chinese side FC Shanghai Shenhua in 2005. He was released at the end of last season.

It is not confirmed yet but the reports coming out of Petrovsky are promising although Advocaat has said he has offers from the UK also to consider although it would be a good coup.

Caught (Nowotny to Dinamo Zagreb) on ARD this morning and had a similar shocked reaction, though it makes a bit more sense when you break it down. He is 32, Dinamo apparently has money, and Leverkusen has had a series of Croatian players, not to mention Bayer contacts.
Less strange than the deal that had Luccarelli halfway to Zenit St. Petersburg, then.

Struggling Dynamo Moscow transfer-list seven players...
Quote:
MOSCOW, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Russia goalkeeper Sergei Ovchinnikov was among seven first-team players transfer-listed by Dynamo Moscow on Thursday.
The struggling Russian premier league club said that Portuguese goalkeeper Nuno, Nigerian international Joseph Enakarhire, Brazilian defender Jorge, Senegalese fullback Pascal Mendi, former Ukraine defender Dmitry Parfyonov and ex-Russia striker Dmitry Bulykin were also deemed surplus to requirements.
Dynamo also loaned Ghanaian international Baffour Gyan to premier league rivals Saturn Ramenskoye last week.
Portugal midfield duo, Maniche and Costinha, along with Greece defender Yourkas Seitaridis left the Moscow club earlier this year.
"We're building a new team and must make tough choices. At present, I don't feel that these players will be able to help our team move forward," Dynamo caretaker coach Andrei Kobelev, who took over from former Russia manager Yuri Syomin three weeks ago, told the club's Web site.
Veteran goalkeeper Ovchinnikov, who has been Dynamo captain this season, received a five-match ban for physically threatening a referee in a league match earlier this month.
Ovchinnikov, Jorge and Parfyonov joined Dynamo at the start of the season while Nuno and Enakarhire were signed from Portuguese clubs Porto and Sporting in July 2005.
Dynamo are having one of their worst seasons ever, struggling both on and off the pitch despite flamboyant owner Alexei Fedorychev having spent more than $100 million on players since taking control almost two years ago.
Dynamo, the only Russian club never to be relegated, remain second from bottom with just two wins from 17 matches.

A good move by the club, they have too many foreign player's and most are not with the team 100%. On the 7 deals I think they should look to make in the region of about $8 to $10 million which is not too bad. Kobelev is a young coach but he has Dyanmo's interests at heart and has been with the club for a while so he know's the setup.
Dynamo should look to finish in the top-10, they are still capable of this but they need to string a few result together and finally they got a win albeit to lowly Shinnik.
They do need to strengthen but not like the dizzy heights of the previous deals, they only need a few good, hard-working players. I think the club should look to strengthen the following positions:
GK - they have no top quality GK although Karcemarkas is a good prospect.
DR - they need a good RB after the departure of Seitaridis.
DC - a good quality CB to partner Kolodin is needed, I thought Enakarhire would be the one but he has not adapted to Russia as expected.
ST - they have no real class up front, Derlei is a good striker, a hard worker and he can bag 15 goals a season but they need another quality ST.
If they bring in those 4 good players then they can do really well. I really expected them to challenge for the RPL this season but buying in so many player's so quickly was never going to work.

Dynamo keeper injured after brawl with coach
KIEV, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Dynamo Kiev reserve goalkeeper Oleksander Rybka was taken to hospital on Thursday after being punched in the face by a rival team's coach during a second division match.
Rybka, who suffered concussion and was out of action for several weeks after being hurt in a Champions League match against Real Madrid in September, was playing in goal for Dynamo's reserves.
A report in Sport Express daily said the 19-year-old collided with CSKA's Serhiy Matyuk in a clash that sent both men sprawling.
The goalkeeper then went over to his adversary and began kicking him, prompting CSKA coach Yuri Maximov to race on to the pitch and strike Rybka in the face.
Both players were taken to hospital, with the under-21 international suffering from concussion. He was given a red card for the incident as was Maximov. The match ended 0-0.
Rybka was concussed in Dynamo's 5-1 defeat by Real after he was hit by defender Sergio Ramos. He played through to the end of the match but had to be helped off the pitch.
'Rybka really should not have behaved in this way,' Dynamo president Ihor Surkis told Sport Express. 'I believe his aggressive action was linked to his new concussion.'

Ghana's Gyan accuses Spartak captain of racism
MOSCOW, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Saturn Ramenskoye's Ghanaian striker Baffour Gyan has accused Spartak Moscow captain Yegor Titov of racism.
Gyan, red-carded for an unsportsmanlike conduct at the end of Wednesday's ill-tempered 1-1 draw against Spartak, said he was a target of racist abuse during the Russian premier league match and accused Titov of inciting Spartak fans.
'Throughout the match Spartak fans were abusing me, calling me a monkey, making monkey noises,' Gyan was quoted as saying by daily Sovietsky Sport.
'Titov didn't behave like a true captain. Instead of calming Spartak fans down, he just made things worse. He was provoking the crowd and asking the referee to give me a second yellow card.
'I feel that he behaved like a racist,' added the elder brother of Ghana's World Cup striker Asamoah Gyan.
Titov has denied the charges.
Gyan was sent off in the last minute of injury time after making an obscene gesture to the crowd. 'I just lost my patience with them and reacted in a bad way,' he said.
Saturn have sent an open letter to the Russian Football Union (RFU) and the league, seeking to punish the perpetrators. RFU officials said they were investigating.
Russian soccer has long been plagued by racist and nationalist incidents.
Just a week ago, Spartak fans displayed a banner showing a swastika during a league match at Shinnik Yaroslavl.
