The PSG hot seat is almost certainly Le Guen's for the asking should he be inclined to prolong his tenure with dysfunctional clubs.

Le Guen confirmed in PSG job
Quote:
Paul Le Guen has been appointed the new manager of Paris Saint Germain.
The former Rangers boss, who left his job at Ibrox less than two weeks ago, replaces the sacked Guy Lacombe, PSG's official website announced on Monday.
Lacombe paid the price for a number of poor results and Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Valenciennes proved to be the final straw.
Their latest reverse sees the capital club slumped in 17th place in Ligue 1, having won just four of their 19 matches.
The statement read: "With immediate effect, Guy Lacombe is no longer in charge of first team training, which has been entrusted to Paul Le Guen and his assistant Yves Colleu."
PSG's board have turned to a man with considerable experience of the French division - most notably in a successful spell in charge at Lyon.
Former PSG player Le Guen will be formally presented to the media in a press conference at 2pm.

Good luck PLG.
He knows France, its culture and French football. He struggled in Scotland.

As I predicted and I bet someone gave him a call in Glascow telling him the position will be open...I felt that he left Lyon to take over the position in Paris and I'm surprise it took this long.

Not terribly surprising news after they lost at home to Valenciennes at the weekend.

LeGuen said that his main concern is preventing PSG from getting relegated rather then obtaining UEFA Cup glory..This is real good news for Benfica...

The meltdown of PSG, as LeGuen and Gallardo seem to have fallen into the quicksand they were brought in to save the massively-budgeted but generally unloved (outside of Paris) club from. They went downto Auxerre 0-1 at the Parc des Princes last night and are now next to bottom (though only two points from safety in a true relegation dogfight involving at least half a dozen clubs).

Le Guen Still Wants Makelele At PSG
Quote:
Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele could yet move to Paris Saint Germain after the French club's coach, Paul Le Guen, confirmed that the France international is still on his wanted list.
Last month there were reports that Claude Makelele had agreed terms with PSG, but there was no official confirmation, and other reports said the player had rejected a move o the French capital.
Chelsea are thought to have offered the 35-year-old a new contract that would keep him at Stamford Bridge for another season, but PSG coach Paul Le Guen has said he is still in contact with Makelele - and still optimistic about persuading him to join the French club.
“I have spoken to the player to tell him that, like last year, we have the intention to make him come to Paris,” Le Guen told L’Equipe.
