Ironbound Sports Club a youth team under the Newark Portuguese will take part on the new USL -

USL Super-20 League formed

Portuguese american Alberto Coutinho had to say

“Shifting our U19 team to a U20 team will provide our club more depth and opportunities for our players,” said Albert Coutinho, President of Ironbound SC from Newark, NJ. “As a club we intend to add a PDL team in 2007, and the U20 team would provide the right resources for a true reserve team.”

http://www.uslsoccer.com/home/121630.html

remember that Francisco Marco a portuguese is the President of the USL leagues

My opinion this is great news, we finally broken up away from the Metrostars, who as not done anything for the portuguese american or Portuguese player, a idea of having a team in the USL in years to come, I'm excited.

we can be the SC Creteil Lusitanos of the french league one of the top portuguese/french teams playing in the top II liga in France.

I was invited to be at the merger of Crusaders, the old strikers and SCP youth department

Frank:

Believe it or not, the Crusaders will be merging with us to create The Ironbound Soccer Club (unity between "old" Strikers, SCP youth Department, and the Crusaders). We will be having a press conference this thursday at 7pm to announce the merger to the community. (We have already met with all the coaches)

Given your historic role in building up the program at the Boys Club, we would be honored if you could be present. We have also invited Fr. Peter. I hope to see you then.

al coutinho

P.s. I will add you to the ISC media list.

two national championships

Ironbound SC Media Relations
Newark, NJ July 31, 2006 Ironbound SC Blaze Under-15 Boys and Warriors Under-17 Boys have won national championships at US Club Soccer National Cup V in Greensboro, North Carolina, exacting revenge in the process.

After clinching National Cup V Regional titles earlier this summer, 73 boys' teams were in contention to raise the newly renamed National Cup trophy, The Doug Hamilton Memorial Cup. National championships were awarded in 11 boys' age group divisions: Super Group U13-U17 and Premier U12- U17.

Blaze, U15 Boys won 2-1 against Washington Premier FC (WA) in the Final on Monday. After being down in the first half, the Blaze fought back to tie the game and then win it on a goal from Corey Marsh in the final minutes for the victory and the National Title.

The Blaze got to final with a 1-1-1 record and advanced on a tie-breaker despite Sunday's lose to Washington Premier FC (WA) while getting limited playing time from four regular starters due to injury. Monday's final meant a little more so with some determination and total team performance, the Blaze prevailed.

Friday, July 28 Win v Windy City Pride (IL) 5-2
Saturday, July 29 Tie v Central Brevard (FL) 1- 1
Sunday, July 30 Loss v Washington Premier FC (WA) 1-2
