Forest sign Neil Harris
Millwall forward Neil Harris has joined Nottingham Forest for a nominal fee. The joint all time top scorer at The Lions has recently fallen out of favour at The New Den.
Harris was half way through a loan spell at Cardiff, but Mick Harford was keen to snap him up once he learnt of his availability.
The 27 year old has signed a 2 and a half year deal. He said:
"I spoke to Mick Harford at the weekend and he when he asked me whether I fancied a move to Forest, I just said yes. We didn't even talk terms - I just knew it was the right move for me.
"I've had seven years at Millwall, and the support they gave me when I had testicular cancer was amazing, but the time is right for me to move and I'm delighted to have joined a club of Forest's size and stature.
"Nottingham is a hotbed of football and I can't wait to get started. "I wouldn't have joined Forest if I didn't think they could get themselves out of trouble.
I've no doubts they will and I'm looking forward to helping them climb the table."
His new manager Mick Harford said:
"It's not that long ago that people were talking about him leaving Millwall for more than a £1million. It represents a real coup from our point of view to have got him out for a relatively small sum.
"He had a well-documented problem with testicular cancer but has come through that which just shows what a determined character he is.
"I'm so delighted to have him here. He seems like a cracking lad, his goal-scoring record speaks for itself and I've no doubt he will prove to be an excellent addition to our squad."
Harris goes straight into the squad to face West Ham on Boxing Day.
