Unhappy Kinnear blast for Morgan

Joe Kinnear has ordered defender Wes Morgan to shape up or find himself shipped out of the Nottingham Forest first team.

The 20-year-old stopper reported back to pre-season training a stone overweight and, despite the campaign being underway, Kinnear is adamant the youngster is still some way of peak fitness.

Morgan played 45 minutes of Forest's 2-2 draw with Crewe last weekend, but Kinnear feels the stopper is not ready for a starting spot.

"Wes was more than a stone heavier when he came back and needs to do something about that," Kinnear stormed.

"Everyone else was two pounds overweight and he was at least a stone over.

"He is a young kid and needs to look after himself and make sure he controls his weight.

"We need to get him fitter and sharper. He played last week for the reserves, but he didn't do so well and I don't think he is ready yet."

Forest_4ever, why isnt there a Forest thread where we can paste transfer news, discuss transfers & the season without starting a new thread?

Anyway, some news (I couldnt be bothered to start a new thread and its kinda related).....

Nottingham Forest are hot on the trail of Hungarian international defender Peter Stark.

Joe Kinnear's side watched Stark in action for his club Gyori earlier this month and requested to take him on trial.

Gyori could not let 26-year-old Stark leave on trial because of their busy domestic schedule, but they are open to talks with Forset.

"I'm happy but on the other hand I'm sad as well," Gyori director Istvan Reszeli Soos told Nemzeti Sport.

"I'm proud of it that such a club as Nottingham is interested in Stark."

Soos will fly to Scotland on Wednesday to watch his nation play at Hampden Park, but he will also take the chance to hold talks with Forest.

"As a guest of the Hungarian Football Federation I'll fly to Scotland on Wednesday and in the name of our club owner Csaba Tarsoly I'll have talks with the manager of Forest," said Soos.

"We might get a great amount of money by selling him to England."

Together with Stark, Forest are also believed to have opened talks with Heerenveen over their Danish starlet Jesper Hakansson.

The young forward has failed to establish himself at The Abe Lenstra and is now being lined up for a possible switch to The City Ground.

Meanwhile, Forest have suffered a blow with the news that their new academy starlet Felix Bastians has been ruled out of action for three months.

The 16-year-old German suffered a broken ankle during a friendly with Watford.
