Aye, Cochrane was ace. His passing was also much better.
As for Reid, he was always a threat. I thought Briggs coped well with him, but I don't think he trained much in the weak and started to tire. So Tonkin (Cornwall's fastest man ) came on to play left back with Billy switching to right back. I don't think Reid beat Billy once, did he?

he couldnt run when he had to and only scored 4 last season
anyway looks like hes found his scoring boots back to the club he really loved

I think you played him as a winger? The same as we played him earlier in his career. But Dario's been saying since we resigned Rivo, that he's always seen him as a goal poaching striker as he gets older, something that all three of his goals have been.

Yeah, he seems to have lost quite a bit of weight.
Rivo For England was the chant we always used to sing before he left to sign for you. The reason he got booed was because he handed him a transfer request and Crewe fans thought it was because he thought he was too big for the club. It turned out it was because he and Dario had a fall out

we used him upfront mainly last season when he scored his 4 goals..till we brought in Crouch/Huckerby then Leon ..then Matty Sven
so he was knocked slowly to the bench...then reserves..then out of the club!

::upset:: Would like three points, I know we're not losing but we're not winning either and Derby getting 3 points against Ipswich just upsets me!!!!!

That's the reason he's been brought in, to score them scrappy goals. We've really lacked a player who can score them since Hulse left and the amount of times last season we've put balls more-or-less across the goal line with no one there to tap them in was unbelievable.
Rivo has now scored three (top scorer in the division ) and they've all been tap-in type goals. I'd love us to play 4-3-3, with Jonah (Steve Jones) and Deano (Dean Ashton) running on to the wings, like they both like doing, supplying the crosses for Rivo, I'm sure we'd score bag loads. The only problem is, our midfield isn't the best at times even when we play four across it, so maybe playing with three would be suicidal.
Another thing, we're the second top scorers in the division (we have 5 and Wigan have 6), but have also conceeded the most
Typical Crewe ::blerrrrr

typical Crewe indeed, West ham will be a tough one, damn my holiday, i aint seen a Crewe match this season yet, apart from the everton pre season.
as for someone saying that Crewe had a pretty strong squad, some fans have been saying that ours is the weakest in the division.
Rivo has turned out to be a good signing, even if he cant run and can be a cheeting little bugger, < must be a norwich thing :P

Question of whether he can keep it up isnt it
Cheating isnt a bad thing, as long as your side is cheating

Rivo wont be able to keep it up, i dont think. will be good if he scores 10 this season, as long as Ashton bangs them in, and if Steve Jones' baby son recovers so that he isnt sleeping on a hospital floor, so that he gets the goals all Crewe fans know he's capable of!

Problem is that sooner rather than later someones going to come in for Ashton.
Tis just a matter of time with a talent as big as his.

Dario would not dare let Deano go this season. Dario knows that if we sell Ashton, we're down.
Plus, when has Dario ever sold a key player when the season's in progress? He never has done.
If Dario thinks Deano is ready for a new challenge, which he DEFINITELY is not yet, only then would he let him go and that would be next Summer. If Dario thought Deano wasn't ready to leave next Summer, using Rob Hulse as an example for someone who was not ready to leave, he'd ask Deano to sign a new contract (as he'd be entering the last year of his contract.) If Deano turned down the contract (like Hulse did) then he'd be sold.
