Johnson Not Worried

David Johnson is not unduly worried about his lack of goals at the start of the
season.

Fellow strikers Gareth Taylor and Marlon King both banged in goals in the 2-0 Coca-Cola Cup win over Scunthorpe.

That took Taylor's tally to three from five games and King to two.

Johnson is still waiting to get off the mark for the new campaign after scoring four goals in five games when returning from injury at the end of last season.

But while he has yet to open his account this time round, Johnson isn"t getting too concerned just yet.

"If I wasn't playing well then I'd be a bit down-hearted but I think that I'm doing pretty well.

"Obviously, I would like to get on the scoresheet sooner rather than later, but with the other lads doing so well, it takes the pressure off a little and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the goals come for me."

That view is endorsed by Taylor, who said: "As soon as David gets one, he'll be off and running.

"He's playing really well without scoring and once he gets off the mark I think all three of us could have a really good season."

Johnson is particularly looking forward to playing alongside new boy Kris Commons, who came on for his debut against Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup.

"We've been desperate for Kris to get into the side after his injury," he said.

"We don't want to rush him back because he's had a hamstring problem and we want to take things steadily with him.

"He's a huge talent and he looked very sharp when he came on.

"He's a fantastic crosser of the ball and as a striker you like to have players like Kris in the side."

Wednesday's victory boosted confidence in the Forest camp going into tomorrow's clash with Coventry City after four successive draws.

"It was nice to get the win but we know that we now need to do it in the league," said Johnson.

"It won't have done us any harm and we've got to remember that we're unbeaten for a long time now.

"It's going to be another tough game tomorrow but with more hard work, I'm sure that we can pick up our first three points."
