Canaries linked with Scotland 'keeper
SCOTLAND goalkeeper Paul Gallacher was today linked with a summer move to Norwich City.
Newspaper reports north of the border claim Gallacher will quit Dundee United for the Premiership by signing for Nigel Worthington's Division One champions.
The Canaries are searching for experienced cover for first-choice Robert Green after releasing reserve goalkeeper Paul Crichton at the end of the season.
Gallacher played with City duo Malky Mackay and Gary Holt in Scotland's 1-0 defeat by Denmark in Copenhagen last month, when the 'keeper won his fifth cap.
He was dropped when Ian McCall took over as Dundee United manager in January 2003 and left out again at the start of the season just finished. On each occasion he showed character to battle back and regain his first-team place.
With Rab Douglas sidelined at Celtic and David Marshall still a rookie, the door was open for Gallacher to make the Scotland jersey his own for the World Cup qualifiers by playing each week for United.
McCall was anxious to keep him but, forced to slash £1million from his budget, it is understood he couldn't offer him a package attractive enough.
